They were alone, and they weren’t expecting company. Crystal squatted by the hot spring. She spotted fish in the hot spring, and she was a little nervous about disturbing them. They were red koi carp, which were one of the few heat-resistant fish that she was aware of, and they fed on necrotic skin tissue. Thus, they would instantly suck their skin and eat their dead flesh when people entered the water. It sounded gross, but it didn’t hurt. Nathan had already entered the water, and he was leaning against the pool’s wall. The air was hot and moist, and the steam made him look handsome.

Liam moved with the easy energy of a child, while Kael walked with that careful, controlled grace he always carried. Orchids of every shade imaginable hang from trellises and branches, their unique shapes and patterns enthralling even the most discriminating eyes. I noticed different rare orchids like Orchis italica, Calypso bulbosa, and Ophrys apifera, to name a few. In a corner of the garden, you would see a magnificent rose garden with different sizes and colors, and even from where I was standing, I could smell the intoxicating scent coming from them.

The glowing lanterns strung above the streets cast gentle ripples across the surface of the large koi pond at the heart of the village square, where dozens of silver and orange fish swam beneath the lily pads. Mesmerized by the ethereal sight, I found myself drifting over towards the edge of the water when we got into the car, Chris falling into step beside me. In front of us us lay a beautiful Koi pond, framed with stone and surrounded by elegantly carved statues. The fish glided gracefully through the water, their orange and white scales shimmering beneath the soft light of the lanterns that hung from the surrounding trees. “Wow. It’s lovely,” I exclaimed, surprised by the unexpected sight. “This is my favorite spot at this establishment,” Marina revealed, a slight smile gracing her lips. I leaned over the edge of the pond, fascinated by the delicate swirls of color weaving through the water. The fish seemed to dance, their motions oddly entran
