It was the snow globe, the very same style that I'd told you about months before, during one of those after-midnight talks that seemed like an eternity ago. A small winter landscape in exquisite detail: a couple dancing under miniature whorling whirls of imaginary snow, with tall evergreens surrounding them and a quaint Victorian lamp post. The bottom was actually silver, with delicate snowflakes elegantly trimmed at the edge. It was ageless, beautiful, and heartbreaking. I had discussed how I'd always dreamed of owning a snow globe as a child, not the tacky touristy kind but one which would hold the essence of winter and love and hope within one perfect globe.

As she didn't shake the crystal ball, the snowflakes couldn't flutter. But the glittering snowflakes were very bright. Sydney held the crystal ball, smiling. "Well, I like it. It's beautiful." She liked snow very much. Moreover, the snow in the crystal ball wouldn't melt, and it was so shiny. She liked the gift very much. "Great!" Julien felt relieved. When he decided to buy this crystal ball, he was afraid that she wouldn’t like it, as there was no real snow in it. However, looking at the smile on her face, he didn't have to worry about it anymore.

I laughed softly now at the memory, shaking my head as my driver pulled up in front of an elegant shopping arcade. “Thank you,” I told him, stepping out and adjusting my purse strap. Inside, the boutiques were cool and gleaming, all marble floors, bright lighting, and the faint hum of soft jazz playing overhead. I strolled leisurely through the aisles, letting my eyes wander over silk scarves, sleek handbags, and crystal ornaments. At one boutique, I found a small glass globe that lit up when tapped. I knew Shane would love it in his study. I bought it immediately.

“I actually wandered into a shop nearby. You should see the cool stuff they sell.” She pulled out a small globe, a tiny mermaid floating inside blue water with sea creatures. “Wow,” Enz said, and just like that, we all gathered around her, cotton candy in our hands. “Here…” she gave her second candy to Vi. Leesa was pretty sure if she touched the orb, it would feel much warmer than usual now. She floated the globe back over in front of her. The new hue had given her another idea to try. She pictured the bright green center her son’s sphere had formed earlier, trying to use the visual to generate the same intensely glowing center in her own globe.
