I sighed, leaning back against the pillows.
“Your dad?” She asked. She always knew even without me saying what was wrong.
“Yeah.”
“Want to talk about it?”
I hesitated. “Not really. I just… needed to hear your voice.”
“I’m here, El. Always.”
“Thanks, Mara,” I murmured.
“Anytime. Seriously. And if you ever need me to pull up in front of that estate with snacks, movies, and questionable advice, I will. Don’t tempt me.”
