I keep looking forward; I must keep moving forward. We are greeted with a paralyzing scene. I see wolves I've never seen before. They have all the Omegas and pups corralled in the corner. They have silver weapons, and the Omegas are trying to shield the pups. The worst part was in the middle of the room, huddled together are the ranked pups, and the wolf who is hoovering over them is none other than Tate Cozad.

The three of them hurried to stand in line. Wolves filled the wide staircase, their steps echoing against marble. Pack cheers erupted around them. They trained their eyes to the floor as the future Alphas descended with effortless arrogance in their military uniforms, some raising their medals or discharge certificates. The pack cheers got rowdier. Elara’s gaze stayed down till she felt a prickle at the back of her neck, the weight of someone’s eyes tracing her. Who… She risked a glance, quick as a heartbeat, and her eyes clashed with a vivid, glaring gray.

Ethan and Liam ran madly toward the entrance of the building, their eyes looking for nothing but the pups. They pawed through the door, and Ethan's first view almost made his blood boil. Against the rear wall were cowered puppies, bulging their eyes in shock and terror. Rank upon rank of the Pack, Moon Shadow, were interposed in their way, ready to fight ferociously until death. "Get the pups!" Ethan snarled, launching from the one he was on top of to the one nearer to where he was. Brutal, but determination hummed through him with each hit, each blow, and the need to protect those he cared for.

Her eyes drift shut, and she nuzzles her face against my hand. The Alpha releases a sharp bark, capturing the attention of a dire wolf pup. The pup, already the size of a traditional wolf, trots over and settles at my feet. The Alpha lets out a deep howl that resonates within me. Following his lead, the rest of the pack joins in the song before turning to leave. All except the curious pup at my feet, who remains fixed on me with an inquisitive gaze.

These last few months have been the most incredible months of my life, and I’m happy to report that the pack is flourishing more than ever. With Sorrell as my Luna, we have worked hard to whip this pack into shape. Since Sorrell took her oath and we completed our bond, we got straight to work. The entire pack officially participates in training. Even the children. The children have different days and times, so it doesn’t impact their sleep schedules and their schooling, and some parents were unsure at first, but the pups have taken to it with gusto, and guess who handles the pup's training? That would be my fantastic Luna.

The last warrior drops to the ground just as Jefferson and my warriors get to the small clearing. Morpheus shifts, and I face them. “We have 13 young pups here, both male and female. They need to be taken back to the packhouse, treated by the healer, and then fed.” “Yes, Alpha.”

A raven haired boy a few years older than her. “Drake’s not around today?” Maya nods and looks out the window again. “The other kids don’t talk to me if he isn’t around, and I think they’re scared of something.” I look around and find the pups of Roman’s pack in clusters. Small heads of hair vary from sandy brown to rich hazelnut, from ebony dark and smatterings of white. They’re all kids. They all look happy. The chatter of school and video games reaches my ears and I smile.

With ten under-shifted wolf pups currently pretending they’re in some kind of feral bloodsport. I was elbow-deep in chaos, again. A chaos with teeth, attitude, and no off switch. One pup was attempting to climb the rock wall using only their claws and sheer audacity. Another obviously was growling low at Curt because apparently, a stolen toy sword was grounds for war. The rest were scattered like small furry landmines across the room. The smallest one, West, bared his tiny milk teeth at Austin, whose ear was already red and wet from the first bite. I hadn’t even finished mopping from the last disaster.

I looked over a Russ who was looking around the area, shaking his head and I watched as 2 of the younger pups ran over to him. He bent down and picked them both up and I couldn’t stop the smile on my face from forming, the little girls snuggled up into him and he chuckled. I know they’re only toddlers but the words left my mouth before I could stop them, “hey, are you trying to steal him, he’s already taken,” I pinched their chubby cheeks.

The pup I, Ivy Calisto, finally conceived with my mate, Owen Wagner, after three long years, was going to be killed by his own hands. "You must guarantee this potion will kill the pup in Ivy's womb. Otherwise, I won't let you off," Owen barked. I could see the fury on Owen's face through the study door. The witch trembled as she handed him the potion. "I guarantee it will kill the pup, and she won't suspect a thing."
