There were about a dozen of them, each with their unique quirks. One of the pups, a girl with wild curls and a perpetually smudged face, stood at the front, her eyes wide with a mixture of interest and doubt. Another pup, tall for his age and already showing the broad shoulders of a future warrior, stood to the side, his arms crossed over his chest and a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. The younger ones huddled together, whispering and giggling, their excitement barely contained.
