Victorious. Walking back to the heart of our camp, I couldn't help but notice the joyful faces around us. Young children tumbled and played, their energy contagious. And as the pups, babies born during their parents on their wolf forms, caught sight of me, their Luna, their tails wagged furiously, tongues lolling in canine grins. Their excitement was palpable, their loyalty unwavering. I crouched down, allowing the pups to swarm around me, nuzzling and licking in affectionate frenzy. Their innocence and exuberance were a bright contrast to the violence of battle, a reminder of why we fought so fiercely—to give a better future to our young ones.

Following his lead, the rest of the pack joins in the song before turning to leave. All except the curious pup at my feet, who remains fixed on me with an inquisitive gaze.

These last few months have been the most incredible months of my life, and I’m happy to report that the pack is flourishing more than ever. With Sorrell as my Luna, we have worked hard to whip this pack into shape. Since Sorrell took her oath and we completed our bond, we got straight to work. The entire pack officially participates in training. Even the children. The children have different days and times, so it doesn’t impact their sleep schedules and their schooling, and some parents were unsure at first, but the pups have taken to it with gusto, and guess who handles the pup's training? That would be my fantastic Luna.

It was a symbol of their triumph, of their new beginning, and their unwavering strength as leaders. Sofia sat on the porch, a soft breeze ruffling her hair, as she watched her two pups playing in the yard. A raven haired boy a few years older than her. “Drake’s not around today?” Maya nods and looks out the window again. “The other kids don’t talk to me if he isn’t around, and I think they’re scared of something.” I look around and find the pups of Roman’s pack in clusters. Small heads of hair vary from sandy brown to rich hazelnut, from ebony dark and smatterings of white. They’re all kids. They all look happy. The chatter of school and video games reaches my ears and I smile.

With ten under-shifted wolf pups currently pretending they’re in some kind of feral bloodsport. I was elbow-deep in chaos, again. A chaos with teeth, attitude, and no off switch. One pup was attempting to climb the rock wall using only their claws and sheer audacity. Another obviously was growling low at Curt because apparently, a stolen toy sword was grounds for war. The rest were scattered like small furry landmines across the room. The smallest one, West, bared his tiny milk teeth at Austin, whose ear was already red and wet from the first bite. I hadn’t even finished mopping from the last disaster.

I looked over a Russ who was looking around the area, shaking his head and I watched as 2 of the younger pups ran over to him. He bent down and picked them both up and I couldn’t stop the smile on my face from forming, the little girls snuggled up into him and he chuckled. I know they’re only toddlers but the words left my mouth before I could stop them, “hey, are you trying to steal him, he’s already taken,” I pinched their chubby cheeks.
