Before He Wakes

Before He Wakes

“Well, the check cleared, I’ll say that much.” “I hear you. Didn’t Stephen King say something once about how a bad movie version of one of his books can’t actually tarnish the book; that it’s still fine up on the shelf, something along those lines?” “Actually, I think he was quoting James M. Cain.” “I’ll take your word for it. You’re the writer, after all.” The young man held out his hand. “By the way, I’m Tobias Silver, but my friends call me—” “Let me guess, Toby?”

Affair with the Rockstar

Affair with the Rockstar

In the movie, it turns out Joe Pesci was just messing with Ray Liotta. I didn’t think that was the case with Miles. “N-No,” I stuttered, contrite as could be. He edged his face closer to mine. “You must think I’m a joke.” “No. God no.” “Because I’ve got some rope and a shovel in the boot of my car, just waiting to be used.” I said it without thinking: “…boot?” “British for trunk,” Derek said helpfully. I could tell he was getting a massive kick out of the whole scene.

I reply. I set up the movie and quickly prepare some popcorn and beverages while the opening credits roll. Returning with our snacks, I find that the movie is about to begin. As the film progresses, we reach my favorite scene where Kat recites her poem. Having watched the movie countless times, I know the lines by heart and recite the poem along with her. Rewrite, “I hate the way you talk to me.” “And the way you cut your hair.” “I hate the way you drive my car.”

The Delta's Daughter - Book 1

The Delta's Daughter - Book 1

“You are starting to sound like Hunji more and more every day.” “And that’s a bad thing? Why?” I asked. “I didn’t say that, it’s just funny. You know, like ‘the student becomes the master’ kinda thing.” I rolled my eyes. He was always quoting movies, and he especially liked to quote fighting movies to me at any chance he got. That was one thing I was grateful for that had survived the extinction of humans, movies, and music. We walked back over to the benches where Kira was now sitting with Mike and Kellen.

I really enjoyed this series. Many books on this platform have similar stories, which gets boring really fast. This book series kept me entertained the whole time. It had the perfect balance of romance and action. I enjoyed getting to know each character in more detail as each book was added.

Rising from the Ashes

Rising from the Ashes

Freddie Hawkins, the one who made that martial arts movie and has incredible fighting skills? Elon looked worshipful. "That's exactly who I mean! I love his most famous quote: 'I've never been interested in money!' Dr. Lloyd, I thought that was such an enlightened outlook on life, what a bold attitude! In this day and age, there are too few people who don't obsess over money!" Andrew sneered coldly, "A man worth hundreds of billions saying he's not interested in money—don't you think that's like someone who's stuffed themselves saying they're not interested in food?"

Reynir Kjartansson
Very good story and the ending was relatively good since each part of the story give a obvious closure. The audio book is also available the whole story. Other authors should follow this example. There is nothing worse than a forced ending or a cut off story, so this story gets all stars, great job!

Third Wheel

Third Wheel

Jackson, in denial, states, “No practice is needed. I’ll rise to the occasion.” A fit of giggles falls on Kennedy and me at his choice of the word rise. Sensing we’re all good, I press play on the remote. “I promise not to say the lines with the characters in the movie,” I chuckle. My friends know it’s a promise I can’t keep. Midway through the movie, Jackson pauses for a bathroom break. I grab a bowl full of pretzel sticks from the kitchen, waiting for his return. Kennedy scoots closer to me on the sofa.

Immortal Cravings

Immortal Cravings

"An old favorite. Monty Python and the Holy Grail." I giggled. "I love that movie. 'Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.' Though I like The Princess Bride even better." "Another classic," Jack agreed with a chuckle. "I'm not at all surprised to find out you're the happy-ever-after type." "Is that a bad thing?" I didn't think he'd intended it that way, but I've never been very good at reading inflections. "Not at all. Based on what little you've told me about your past, I'm impressed that you've still got such an optimistic outlook."

The Billionaire's Illegitimate Daughter

The Billionaire's Illegitimate Daughter

Margo's shirt was soaked in tears. I nodded. "Everything is fine," I said, smiling. For the first time since the incident with Jazmin, I felt compelled to smile. Thanks to Amir Khan's famous line. I repeated our favorite line from the Indian film "Three Idiots," "All is well, all is well!" and we burst out laughing. Then we began to sing the movie's OST. We were both fans of Indian films. Following that, we ate chocolate moist cake, a sundae, and carob seeds ice cream! Sweeetsss!

The Hybrid's Mate

The Hybrid's Mate

He gives her a look of pure sympathy. “We have got to watch it! I can't believe that you have never seen it! It has got everything a good movie needs. Hot, and I do mean smoking hot, actors. By that I am referring to Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas. Both are literally too sexy for words. It also has sweet, tear-jerking romance scenes. Iconic lines. It's honestly great.” I tell her. "I can't believe you don't know it. It has one of the best movie quotes. She asks him, 'What'd ya wanna be married to me for, anyhow.' and he tells her 'so I can kiss you anytime I want'. It will literally make you swoon!" “I would love to watch it with you.” She says and I squeal.

Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife

Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife

We ordered Chinese takeout — he insisted on paying — and somehow ended up scrolling streaming apps until he gasped dramatically. “Oh wow,” he whispered. “You haven’t seen this movie, have you?” I blinked. “I don’t know, which one—?” He clicked it before I could finish. A cheesy, old-school action comedy from the early 2000s appeared onscreen. I burst out laughing. “Matthew. No.” “Oh yes.” He grinned. “It’s a classic. A cinematic masterpiece. And tonight, you’re being initiated.” We watched while waiting for the food, throwing commentary at the screen, cringing at the bad special effects, and quoting lines in the worst accents imaginable.
