"Change into the Act One costume. The director wants a full run-through of the second half by noon. You okay?" "I'm fine," I lied, the word tasting like ash in my mouth. "Are you sure?" The male actor who is the male lead in the play, Jefferson, stepped into the room, looking at me while smiling, "Are you sure you're?”

The corner of Adrian’s mouth twitched, but he didn’t move. “Alright,” Maxwell continued, “reset for scene six—Lancelot and the Prince’s confrontation.” Andrey grinned, twirling his sword. “Been waiting for this.” As they took their positions, Elara stepped back toward the side of the stage area, still feeling the weight of Adrian’s gaze on her. She told herself not to look at him. She failed. Adrian’s expression was unreadable, but his eyes stayed on her until Maxwell called, “Action!” When the scene ended, Andrey stepped back, bowing with exaggerated grace. He looked over at Adrian, smirk still in place.

He said, gesturing to the screenplay in her hands, “What we’re going to do is I’m going to play Cain in this scene, and you’ll be Abby.” Astrid nodded, holding on to her copy firmly. “The context of this scene is that your brother ruined your night at the bar by bringing you home, only to leave you to face your father’s wrath alone. This is the aftermath of that, so now you’re angry and you’re lashing out.” “Right.” Astrid replied, mentally getting into the scene. “All right then! Whenever you’re ready.” Astrid closed her eyes and breathed in, she let the oxygen sit in her lungs for a moment before exhaling slowly.

“First scene would be with Stella. How are you feeling?” I smiled, taking a sip. “Nervous to be honest but ready. I’ve reread the script and It’s going to be intense.” Kim nodded. “The director mentioned it’s one of the pivotal scenes of the movie, so all eyes will be on this one. But you’ve got this, Ms. Marga.” I headed into the trailer to get my hair and makeup done, and as I sat in the chair, I couldn’t help but go over the script in my head.

She heard Maria swallow; clearly, she was too nervous to ask him. “Okay class!” Mr. Sparrow yelled out. “Boys, you of course are Romeo and girls, Juliet. In this scene, Romeo and Juliet are in a lavish costume ball. They see each other for the first time. It is love at first sight. And although they don’t know each other, in their first words, they express their undying love for one another. Clearly, we are not going to re-enact the dance in this room.” The class erupted into a giggle.

I delivered the next dialogue. “ I will hold onto your words, Juliet…” but before I could complete my dialogue, I saw Alice walk towards me. This rendered me speechless. What was she doing on the stage? She must have come to investigate why Aaron was saying such funny dialogues. “ Who are you?” I asked hoping that she would give me some clue so that I can react accordingly. In reply, she slapped me and yelled, “ Romeo, have you forgotten your mother. Oh God! What will I do now? His love for Juliet has rendered him blind. He doesn’t even recognize me.”

“This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.” “Scenario three!” Sugar announced before I could stand up and drag them apart. “The Dramatic Entrance. Leon, stand at the bottom of the staircase. Margaux, descend like you own every diamond in Paris. Swoosh the gown. Toss your hair. Smile like you just invented champagne.” Marigold groaned loud enough to shake the windows. “Sugar, it’s nine in the morning. I am not swooshing anything.” “Oh yes, you are.” Sugar snapped her fingers at a maid, who appeared with a dress so glittery it looked like it had eaten half a chandelier.

Everyone walked down from the bus, Mirabel sighted the church which was close to the mountains.
