The mutilated corpses of Taloren’s Chosen littered the ground as the drones dismantled each of them with surgical precision. One of the Drogar screamed in absolute pain as one of the drones dug its hind claws into him while it used its talons to slice him to ribbons. He was literally held down while he was disemboweled alive. The Drogar’s compatriot was on the ground next to him, completely frozen with fear. His hands shook so intensely that he could barely keep his gun trained on the drone. Just as he gathered enough courage to steady his aim, a bullet shot right through the side of his head in a flash.

Then suddenly the chanting stopped and Xavier’s eyes flew open in shock, then fear. Drake did not give him time to process anything, he did not hesitate. He used the last of his strength to drive the dagger in his hand forward and it pierced straight into Xavier’s chest. Xavier gasped with eyes wide, he was stuck in position by the staff so he could only watch helplessly. He thought his victory was secure, he never thought this would be how he died in the end. Drake leaned close, voice low and final. “This ends now.” Then he ripped the dagger free and proceeded to drag it cleanly across Xavier’s throat.

I shouted, hacking my phone. The screen flickered, jamming the drones’ signals. Sparks flew, and they crashed, debris scattering. Dax and Jace rushed in, covering me. Seems like they've handled their own attack successfully. “Keep hacking!” Dax growled, slashing a guard. Jace nodded, tearing a drone apart. Blood flew, their moves relentless. I nodded, fingers flying on my phone, breaking more signals.

The result of her kill or contribution to Drakoen's plan didn't bring her any joy or sorrow. They left the Red River Pack without even arranging for the bodies to be buried.
