The guardian’s smile faltered, and for the first time, I saw a flicker of doubt in his expression.
Minseok turned to me, his eyes meeting mine. "Trust me?"
"Always," I replied without hesitation.
He nodded, then raised his blade, pointing it not at the guardian, but at the glowing symbols on the walls.
"Whatever power he’s using, it’s coming from these," Minseok said. "If we destroy them, we destroy his hold over this place."
The guardian snarled, his composure cracking. "You’ll regret this."
Minseok didn’t wait for him to finish. He charged at the nearest symbol, his blade cutting through it with a burst of light. The entire hall trembled, and the guardian let out a roar of rage.
