Muse Time Is Running Out Meaning Novels & Stories

"You're a good man, Julian. Sophia doesn't know how fortunate she would have been to marry you." I hugged them with misty eyes and smiled. "It's alright. If I can't be your son-in-law, I can still be like a son to you. In the future, I'll still look after you both." Gavin and Allison finally smiled through their tears and ultimately agreed with my decision. I remembered the second wish in Sophia's diary. That should count as fulfilling it, right? The time machine would only allow me to stay here for thirty-six hours. Now, there was one last wish to fulfill.

Cee spit out. "What is a molar mic?" Cora was becoming enthralled. "It's a gizmo that allows you to communicate wirelessly! They'll send someone else in if I don't contact them within 24 hours, which is almost over!" "Oh..." "I don't have time, Cora! From now till luncheon, is all I have!" She chewed her bottom lips in frustration to keep herself from yelling. Cora was perplexed by Tessa's terrified expression as she simply gazed back at her in disbelief.

The warehouse. Bring the recordings. Come alone. Or the next date you have won't be at a museum. It'll be at a funeral. Elena stared at the screen. Her hands shook. Tomorrow. They'd run out of time. She looked at the museum behind her, the lights still glowing, the evening still perfect. She looked at her phone, the words that had turned her peace to ash. Tomorrow, she'd face whoever was in the shadows. But tonight, she had this. The museum. The paintings. His hand in hers.

My possessiveness had become stronger every single day. Everything was intensifying at a pace I could no longer comfortably ignore. I glanced toward the clock. The date silently reminded me of another problem. Time was running out. Only a few weeks remained before the beastly madness resurfaced completely. I understood exactly what would happen if I failed. The curse would return. The transformations would intensify and everything would spiral out of control again. Hours continued passing afterward. The darkness outside gradually softened. A faint glow began appearing beyond the enormous windows. Dawn was approaching quickly.

Mara runs. Renn staggers after her toward the observation glass. The twelve behind it are still alive. For now. Leo’s clock resets. 01:00:00. Then 00:59:59. I almost collapse with relief. Almost. Because the next line appears under it. PERSONALITY COHERENCE HOLD: ARTIFICIAL. DEGRADATION ACCRUAL CONTINUES. The hour is not a cure. It is a room where the drowning can keep drowning without sinking out of sight.

The countdown had begun. Each second that passed, raised the stakes and it came with tension. Forty minutes to go. The press, influencers, and fashion lovers had all gathered in clusters, their eyes glued to their devices, awaiting the hour of truth. The museum curator had announced a few minutes ago. “The answer has not yet been received.” And the sentence sent ripples through the internet. Was Gracie Belle trying to make a grand entrance by responding at the last minute? The last minutes were closing in, and the answer had not yet been received?

After roughly half an hour, they left the library, and we heard the voice of their leader telling them to gather around and leave, as there was no one in the cabin. I pressed myself to the wall all throughout their operation until they finally left. “Let’s go, Sam. We don’t have time to spare anymore.” We have wasted more than enough time, and the clock was ticking. Malthus was becoming stronger with each passing second.

Time to end this one way or another. ***

Unfortunately, she doesn’t know who it is. After our little conversation, she asks me to get back to work. Madame Claudia is as strict as ever. Just like the usual, the museum seems quiet and only a few people visit here. I guess fewer people appreciate arts nowadays. *** I am so absorbed with my work that I didn’t even notice the time passes. It is already evening time. When I see other co-workers preparing to leave, I take my phone out and check the time. It is already six in the evening. “Shit, it is so late, and I haven’t even finished half of this. I just can’t leave it hanging, especially with the event coming next week, I guess I have no choice but to work over time,” I thought.

Alvera nods in agreement, her tone calmer but no less of the ssme message. “Trix, we’re not trying to downplay what she’s been through. Trust me, I get why you’re hesitant. But the fact remains. We’re running out of time. If we don’t find the Moon’s Tears soon, we’re done. The pack is done. Everyone you’ve fought so hard to protect will fall.”
