Must Read Books For Women Novels & Stories

I looked around the large library on the fifteenth floor of the office. Two years I worked here, I never visited the library because of course work is more important. Besides being used as a display, this library is usually used for programmers who want to work in peace. If Big Man's secretary hadn't taken Rhysand and me to the library, I might have been the only employee who had never visited this room. I love reading. Reading novels. The first novel I read was by Louisa May Alcott; Little Woman, and then moved on to other feminist novels such as Handmaid's Tale and Pride and Prejudice—the book I'm holding right now.

I donated a dozen books from the Barlowe house—stories I wanted other young girls to find: Jane Eyre, Little Women, The Secret Life of Bees, Becoming, The House on Mango Street, and more. Books that had whispered to me when the world was too loud. Books that had taught me what a woman could be. Mrs. Bertram smiled as she scanned the titles. “This will change someone’s life,” she said. I nodded. “That’s the goal.” I stopped at the market afterward for fresh apples and ginger chews. A few people I knew offered kind smiles, congratulations, warm nods. The town had softened. The whispers had quieted. And even when they hadn’t… I no longer let them land.

That was one thing she admired and usually, she visited the library or bookstores to get books that talked basically about how a man and woman should live. Never did she see anything relating to a woman who would be excited to hear that her husband is sick. “It’s simply because she wants me dead”, Richard dropped and immediately, Emily’s eyes popped out in surprise.

She walked closer to the shelf and picked up two books. “The koatsnto’s Marriage demand.” she read the title aloud. “Do men demand things before marriage?” she shrugged and held it to her other hand. “The subtle act of not giving a fuck!” “Nahhhh… this is definitely not my thing.” she placed it back on the shelf and her hand gripped another. “Forbidden affairs with his secretary.’ Unmmhhh… some hot shit right here, let's try it out.” She walked back to the chair and flipped the book but her eyes cut something and she read it wide aloud.

If no one was willing to teach me, then I would have to take matters into my own hands. With a resolute mindset, I walked over to the bookshelf in the corner of the room and began browsing through the collection of books. I selected a thick volume titled "The Duties and Responsibilities of a Queen" and settled down at a nearby table. I flipped open the book and started reading, absorbing the knowledge and insights it contained. As I read, I realized that there was so much more to being a queen than I had initially thought. It wasn't just about wearing a crown and making appearances at royal events. It was about leadership, diplomacy, and making difficult decisions for the betterment of the k

I raised my brow in question at her. "I know, I know." She laughed with a soft voice. "I promise that I am not a weirdo. I am just curious to see your view on this book. I mean It is rarer to see people read that book." Her words were incessant. Why should people bother to read this book that was about the woman who killed my people? She was not worthy of it. She reminded me of my mom; who was the just replica of her. What was the difference between her and my mom?

I ask. He looks at me. “Don’t your books tell you how big of an age gap between children they have their children?” he asks me curiously. I laugh “My books are a little different. The one book, the woman was pregnant almost every year because they loved one another…” heat rushes to my face again. “Jesus Grace, I don’t think that’s healthy. I think your insides need at least two years to heal… I read that somewhere.” He shakes his head. “Do I need to ban certain books from you again?” he asks.

Her heart hadn't even had time to throw itself in his path. Feeling very pleased with herself, she continues. "Clearly you need to pay a little more attention to the women in your life. You shouldn't feel bad about it. Most men make that mistake. You know, you might want to buy some self-help books. Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, that kind of thing." He shook his head. "If I had time for that I wouldn't need your advice." She frowned. "If this is really important to you, you'll make the time."

Mom supported me, not because she understood, but because she loved me and wanted me to be happy. I stood up and walked around the library, feeling a little restless. They had all of the classics, and some of them looked as though they were expensive copies. Other authors that I regularly read, such as James Patterson and Dean Koontz were on the shelves. They even had some of my female favorites, such as Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner and Heather Graham Pozzessere. Then I wondered down to another section where I found some more provocative books. They had a lot of erotica books. One huge volume stood out: The Kama Sutra.

And how much it contained. The year that had preceded it. The fire that had produced it. The woman it had required her to become. The marriage it had required both of them to remake from the complete account of what was real. The children who were learning, from living inside it, what honesty and accountability and repair looked like in practice. The book that was in the world and the women reading it and the things it was doing in those readings that she would never fully know but could feel, in the way she felt things that mattered, as real. The ordinary life was full.
