Must Read Fiction Books Novels & Stories

I just sighed heavily. I also went upstairs to read. I really like reading some novels especially Romance genre. It feels real and my imagination is really working when I'm reading those scenes that I like. I imagined that I am the main character and wished that I have a happy ending with my partner. But most especially, the lessons of life.

“Are you reading fiction books again? Why not put everything you’ve learned in the book into practice in your own life? So you don’t end up becoming a fool who fantasizes about it in your head.” I don’t know what to say to her. I don’t read romance; instead, I prefer horror and mystery-thrillers. If I follow what is written in the book, I will be a killer for the rest of my life. “I just don’t want to interact with others, sister. You already know how bashful I am.” My sister frowned. “You can’t talk to anyone because you’re too timid. What if your family is no longer with you? What are you going to do?”

I plop down on the sofa when I didn't find anything appealing to read in his bookshelf. “Didn't find anything appealing?" He asked. I rest my head back. “Yeah. You have boring books." I mutter. I should leave. I will be getting bored and nothing else. “What type of books do you like?" He asked. I look at him with my head resting back. “Fiction." I answered. He grabs his phone and calls someone. “John, I want you to get a bunch of the latest fiction books and the most famous one as soon as possible. And remove the books from my bookshelf to arrange those in it."

"Then make it practical. What did you used to enjoy before art consumed your entire identity?" I thought about it. About the person I had been before success made creating feel obligatory instead of joyful. "I used to read. Fiction. Just for pleasure." "Then read fiction. Let yourself do something purely for enjoyment without it needing to be productive." I went to a bookstore that afternoon. Wandered the fiction section, picking books based on covers and first lines instead of critical acclaim or literary value. Left with five novels that looked interesting. Makes humans rapted in an imaginary world, completely forgetting what reality brings. But I doubt so. I think books are more of an extension of real life happenings. Not a disease but a cure. Most people read books to escape reality and not to forget it. We don't get trapped in our own imaginations, we just foresee images that we want our lives to become. Saliently, we learn from books. If I can't associate with anyone, I thought at least I should be permitted to read books. After all, books can't capture the identity of the one reading it, can it?

Some part of me wanted that. Not because I wanted the power. Not because I wanted to collect people like trophies. Because the thought of being wanted like that; to be chosen like that, made something in my chest go warm and tight. All because I had read... things. Books. Ones that I pretended they were "just entertainment." Stories that had made me squirm under blankets and bite my lip and tell myself I was being ridiculous. But the ones that had gotten me the most... the ones that lit my skin up and made my pulse race, were the ones where the woman wasn't lonely in love.

You enjoy the fluff, get your panties wet during the snu-snu moments, and fantasize about things that only happen in fiction. 'You like to read these crappy books because you want to fantasize about the things that you can never have. These books make up for your boring reality. These books have twisted your expectations of a real man. On the other hand, those who love to read would be captivated by the story and refuse to sleep before finishing the book. That would affect their sleep cycle.
