Surrender Under His Command

Surrender Under His Command

Jessa let Damien draw her back into the hut. Jessa was sitting beside Damien in a private lounge in LAX while Damien’s private plane was refilled. She glanced up from her magazine to look at the television screen, just as a news bulletin came on. She froze, shocked by the picture that appeared on the screen. She grabbed Damien’s arm. Damien turned to her. “Jessa, what is it?” “Look,” she said, raising a shaking hand to point at the TV screen that was showing some news footage of Victor from a few years ago. Damien stood and grabbed an attendant who turned the volume up.

THE LAST LETTER

THE LAST LETTER

Beyond them stretched an enormous underground city. Emma stared in disbelief. Rows of modern buildings stood beneath the earth. Vehicles. Generators. Warehouses. Computer servers. It was impossible. Liam whispered, "This isn't a bunker." "It's a city." Edward spread his arms proudly. "Welcome..." "...to New Foundation." Thousands of lights illuminated the underground complex. People walked through the streets. Scientists. Engineers. Armed guards. Families. Children. Emma felt her heart sink. "Children?" Edward nodded. "They know nothing about the world above."

Run Fox Run

Run Fox Run

Mutants have a distinctive scent. It goes along with their overall wrongness. They smelled like rotten earth and industrial buildings. Depending on the type of mutant, all they had to do was be near you, and you could become infected. Only superheroes can defend from those because they have some of the mutant genes in them, so they don’t turn. If you don’t have the mutant genes in you already, you’re at risk of turning into a mutant. Those mutants are rare. It’s more common to face the ones that if they bite you or break your skin, you become infected. But it was always better to be safe, then dead.

Under the Full Moon

Under the Full Moon

"Lord Shane! Lord Shane!" a dark-haired guy came shouting at a tall and serious man that was contemplating the moon through the window, with the hands on his pockets. They were inside of an old and abandoned warehouse outside of the city, where their pack lived. Lord Shane was their leader and they were a band of rogue wolves that thought they were better and stronger than most of the other wolves. They didn't care about any rules and always did what they wanted. Shane was a young man with blonde hair, green eyes and a face full of scars. His presence was terrifying and it was almost like the place got colder every time he arrived.

I turned and walked away, my heels striking the stone floor. “Remember this. Whoever I choose to lift can become an underboss. Whoever I choose to destroy can only end up as trash.”

Wolf Den

The heavy metal door finally opened along with a wide downstairs towards the underground city. They slowly descended on the underneath fortress as the surrounding was filled with chilly breeze of the wind and eerie silence. They continued descending until they've reached the last step. From the last step there was an elevator on the side in which the warriors will used in descending underground. Mell now understood why they said it was hell to live in the City. From their step the city lied about 10 feet below them. They could see the prison cells a

Mason. After we made all the calls and arrangements, I sat in the alpha's office and went through the advertisement again. I was angry at the private joke attached to it. Our wolves were living underground not because we wanted to deprive them of sunlight but protect them from war. A war the humans had brought upon us. As much as I was a peace-loving guy, I wondered how the humans would fare if we descended on them and they had to go underground to their bomb shelters? The joke would not be funny anymore, I suppose.

I really enjoyed this book, and the characters in it. The plots were complex and kept me guessing. Imagine my surprise when I came all the way to the end and discovered the book was never finished! There apparently haven’t been any updates in over 6 months. Very disappointing.

The audio clip started and the image began to move. “Hello survivors, my name is Daniel Shirker, President and founder of Project Humanity’s Last Resort. For those unaware, the world as you know it is over. We are entering a new world, a new age, a world of peace and freedom, but do know, you are not alone.
