Love In The Underworld

Love In The Underworld

They were empowered to process their emotions, build connections with each other, and embrace the beauty of their differences rather than letting it divide them. Moreover, members provided each other with moral support—offering solace in times of crisis or sadness, comfort when feeling overwhelmed, validation during moments of doubt, and strength when courage faltered. This unwavering support was invaluable—strengthening individual resolve while reinforcing collective determination toward shared goals.

Independence Is a Good Look On Her

Independence Is a Good Look On Her

Besides, they could always negotiate if she refused. People would haggle over vegetables at a marketplace, and this was no different. The most stable form of cooperation wasn't built on personal favors or selfless goodwill. Instead, it was based on mutual benefit. If they couldn't reach an agreement, it simply meant the offer wasn't tempting enough. They just needed to raise the stakes! It was such a simple truth. Hendrix, of all people, should have understood it better. Yet, here he was, being so flustered.

This is a good book. I enjoyed reading it. It’s been a week now with no new chapters. At least end the book with an ending instead of just left it hanging. It’s getting more interesting & I know the readers would like to continue reading it. You know the feeling without closure, no satisfaction.......

Reciprocity

Reciprocity

My legs gave out, and we fell to the floor in a tangled mess. Before we married, we made a pact to have a date night once a week. It was to take the place of our bar night and help us get out of our hiding tendencies. Thanks to the wedding and trial, we’d lost a few. There was still a nervous edge in the back of my mind that one of our coworkers would see us and report us. Even after we were married, it caught us both at times. I loved being out with her, whether to the grocery store or a movie—it was great being able to live life again.

He didn’t really know what to expect from her, but if it got her out of her gloomy state he was willing to do anything. “I need your help getting over this rejection.” Jadie growled. Lincoln leaned back slowly against the edge of his desk, still confused on his role in the situation. “I came here for a reason, and I’m not going to let some asshole ruin that for me. So I need you to…be my friend and distract me from the pain that keeps coming, if that makes sense.” She chuckled nervously, realizing how crazy she must sound to him. She barely even knew the man, but he knew Wilson better than anyone else. She needed his help getting over this.

Jonathan said, "but no one's willing to help." "You should know that business is as dirty as politics, James. Everything related to money and power cannot be achieved only with kindness and honesty." Jeremy chimed in. "There are no permanent friends or enemies in politics or business; there is only cooperation for mutual benefit. If other people don't want to help us, it's like they see that we can no longer benefit them." "It sucks," James said.

"How do you decide who’s worth helping then?” "Simple: I help the ones who can help me back. This world runs on favors, not charity. If they’ve got something to offer—power, influence, or even loyalty—they’re worth my time. If not, they’re a waste of it." "Ha, mutual benefit is it then," I muttered, pretending to think about it. He leaned in, "So, do you want to work with me?" "I'm..." I trailed off, looking back at Giovanni. This wasn't part of the response I was hoping he'd ask! So, I hadn't prepared any mental answers.
