Falling for my Dad’s Best Friend

Falling for my Dad’s Best Friend

I tried to push the memory to the back of my mind, focusing instead on other distractions, like spending more time with Jason. Jason and I had been hanging out a lot recently. His company was a welcome diversion from the tension at home. I didn’t see Antonio at all at home and I figured he must have had early classes or something. One day, as I was walking to school, I ran into Jenny. “You know,” Jenny said with a playful grin, “it seems like you’ve got a new best friend. You barely pay attention to me anymore.” I rolled my eyes and laughed. “It’s not like that, Jenny. I’ve just been really busy.”

The Alpha King's Sweet little Addiction

The Alpha King's Sweet little Addiction

I cursed at his retreating figure after emptying my cup of coffee on him. By the third down to the fifth, I barely paid any attention, knowing the person they saw was definitely not Zora. “Miss? Miss? Are you listening? Twenty million is all I need, and I'd tell you exactly where she is”. I raised my eyes to her face and took a quick glance at her, easily guessing she was a mother. “Do you have a kid?” I asked still. She nodded, blinking in confusion. “My best friend is a mother as well”, I started, my voice bare of any emotion, “And they watched their mother being taken away on her wedding day”.

My Father's Best Friend

My Father's Best Friend

“But I do know that he’s sixteen years older than you. He’s your dad’s best friend. Is he going to want kids? He’s what, forty now?” My stomach contracted painfully. “Forty-five, but men have kids well into their fifties now.” “No, they don’t.” Erica released Matt and walked over, taking my shoulders into a tight grip. “Look at me. You’re my best friend in the whole world. I love you more than anyone.” “Hey, what the hell?” Matt mumbled and turned back to the stove. “Hush it!” Erica and I responded to him in tandem.

Accidental One Night Stand With My Boss

Accidental One Night Stand With My Boss

I couldn't help but chuckle. " How wouldn't you have a good time when you went with your secretary slash girlfriend," She said and I felt like a schoolboy who was talking to his mother about his crush. " How is she doing?" She asked. " Not good," I said with a sigh. " Why, what happened?" My mom asked her voice filled with worry. " Her best friend got into an accident, it's pretty bad but we're hoping she'll wake up soon," I said. " Oh the poor girl, I pray she'll be okay,"

Keeping to myself has worked for me so far, no need to change things. Before my mom got shot, she was always bugging me about getting out and hanging with friends or telling me that I need to start dating. Who has time for that when you’re trying to just get through life in one piece? My mom was my best friend for years. After Knox moved away and decided to never contact me again, I had a few close friends, but then we lost everything, my friends were included. So, it was always just mom and me. That is until the shooting.

Great book with great characters. Lots of twists. Definitely another great book from Stacy Rush! Loved this one almost as much as her book My Bully’s Love. Sad to see this one end but it was well worth the wait and heartache in some scenes. Cannot wait for the next book from Stacy!

Best book ever! A roller coaster of emotions throughout, suspense and drama to keep you interested. Such a talented writer that no doubt has a great future. I can not wait to see what the future holds in the books written by this author.

Owned By My Best Friend's Father

Owned By My Best Friend's Father

I look at her, Emily Cross, my best friend, the kind of friend anyone would wish for. The girl who held my hand asking me not to cry when Victor showed up drunk for my fifteenth birthday. She had once shown up at my door with groceries when Mom's paycheck came late. Let me sleep on her bed for a week when the mold got so bad in our bathroom I couldn't stop coughing. She's been here through everything, every bad thing, every hard thing. And here I am sitting beside her, this close to telling her that I want her father. I can't tell her, I couldn't afford to lose her… if I do she'll never forgive me. And she's one person in the world I can't lose.

The Unexpected Affair

The Unexpected Affair

"The bosses loved my presentation. They even joked about sending me to a conference in the US in June if I keep up the good work." Her eyes twinkled with pride. "That's wonderful, honey! I'm so proud of you." "Thanks, Mom. How have you been?" I diverted the conversation to her. I missed her while I was busy preparing my presentation. "I've been good. Just the usual stuff." My mother had this goofy smile on her face as she told me that her best friend from high school had texted her. "Really? Who?" I asked, intrigued. "You won't know her because she was my friend long before you were born," she said, her smile widening. "Her name is Xander."

Untainted soul that suffered

Untainted soul that suffered

I complimented which made my parents smile. I looked at them and I don't know why but I am sounding something fishy. The way they are exchanging looks I am sure there is something for sure. "Tell me," I said. "Wh...what are you saying?" Mom got startled and asked. "I know you want to tell me something. So tell me." I asked coolly . "You remember Shrestha aunty, my best friend. You have met her during one of our meetings ." She told me.

Mated to the Alpha Knight

Mated to the Alpha Knight

Yes, my mom is my best friend, yes I do have other friends, and no, I don't care if most kids my age considered that weird. "Fine Celeste, I guess since it is your birthday, we have to do what you want," My mom and I smiled at each other, both knowing that next Saturday would consist of horror movies, candy, and shit talk.

Good story but some events that occurred had no impact on the story and I wondered why they were included unless it’s revealed in the next book, e.g., the Truth Lake 🤷🏻‍♀️ when she got bitten by the snake in the lake, what did that all mean🤷🏻‍♀️ Mind I did skim read a lot of it so could have mis

love it! Will you finish the second book or is this how it finishes? I would have like to have read details about them getting married. I only found out they were married was he's time with the counselor. The second book seems to skipped around a bit.

The Aqua Prince

The Aqua Prince

"Hmm, boys, let's go" Bright said and his Zombie friends join him as he left with his head buried in shame. It was a hectic first day in school and his best. I arrived home from school with loads of stories to tell my mom who has always been his best friend, confidant and gossip mate. Yeah, my mom had been my best friend if not the only friend I have had for a very long time, we share lots of things, she tells me about her doings while I also tell her about mine, whenever I'm out, I kept running to get home fast so I could tell her things that happened in her absence.
