My Boss Novels & Stories

I was just his shadow. "Hey, I need the restroom," I whispered. He nodded absently. In front of the mirror, I retouched my lipstick. Then I saw her - Janet Maddox - behind me. "I didn't know people could look so alike..." she said, rinsing her hands. "Yeah... I guess," I replied, edging toward the door. "He likes you," she said calmly. "Nic? He's my boss," I answered. She smiled softly and stepped toward me. "I know. You'd make a wonderful mother."

“Yesterday was never supposed to happen. And it can’t happen again.” He raised a brow. Like he was trying to figure me out. “Why can’t it?” He asked. “Because you’re my boss.” I said. “And this could really ruin my job.” “What did you say I am again?” He asked me. Like he didn’t hear me clearly the first time. “My boss.” I said quietly. “Exactly. And I make the rules.” He said. “No one is putting your job on the line for anything.” “Please Zayden.” I said. “I just don’t want to anymore.”

If I leave, I may be dead within a few hours. As usual, when I sit at my desk, the last thing I want to think about is my woes. I prepare everything Mr. Raging Asshole needs for his morning meetings and dive into my world of fantasies that would get me fired if I ever got caught. "I want to show you something," Mr. Bossman says. I’m standing before him in his office, but the look in his eyes makes me doubt whatever he wants me to see is work-related. "Come here," he instructs.

"Look, I can't-and won't- ignore my boss. He is greater than I am. The man who pays my salary. As a matter of fact, any of them that is relevant would be so, getting more than just my attention. What you are doing isn't cute. Don't act as if you are looking out for me."

Lydia asks. "Yes." I say closing my eyes "and he is my boss. Infact the CEO and owner of the company." I say with a groan. "Oh my God." Alessia exclaims. "Carter King?" She asks. "Yes." I say with a groan. "I didn't know he was the boss though or it probably wouldn't have happened and now I can't stop thinking about him." I add explaining.

My boss Maximus, but we call him Max is the coolest person I know. He made a fortune creating high-tech security gadgets, he’s a genius and he knows it. But not in an irritating type of way, he’s wealthy and smart but he’s cool. He treats all his employees well. In fact, he treats all human beings well. I love working here and I love my job, which is why I start gathering my stuff so I can leave. I shut down my computer at the thought of having another painstakingly long conversation with my boss about the importance of unplugging.

Talk less of calling his name. "Well hello brother!" Boss replied in the same sceptical sly smile. Wait a minute, Did he just call Henry brother? But he just called Henry brother... Could it be they are... Could it be they are siblings? What on earth is going on that I know nothing about? Tbc
