"Come here, baby. It's your turn to heal me." To which she complied right away. She scooted her body into me and soon started running her finger over my naked chest. And I couldn't help but close my eyes, reveling all sparks that I always loved and positively affected me. I felt strong energy coursing throughout my body, and Black's healing ability tripled. Minor scratches were closed immediately. "Sorry, Travis, I can't heal you now. Only if my touch affected you the same ways as to Zurin." She said after a while, still doing her magic on my body. "Unless, of course, we stop."

Imprinting them on his mind ti remember forever. "How are you feeling?" He asked me. "Warmer," I had replied. "Good, may I?" He offered me his hand and I took it, but I hadn’t known back then he was gathering memories through that touch. "I can heal you if you would like?" I remember him offering. "How?" I asked thinking he was utterly crazy in that moment. Who could heal someone? It turns out he could, as an alpha but back then I hadn’t known that and I was shocked when he moved to lick me.

He said as he took her head in his hands, “Looks like you’ve knocked your head good. Close your eyes, for a moment.” “Why?” Lola asked as she looked up at the man with dark auburn hair. “So I can heal you.” He said smiling down at her, Lola felt her breath catch in her throat at his closeness. She closed her eyes, feeling his breath fan across her face. She could see sparks behind her eyelids as she felt his warm fingers probe her scalp, making the pain fade away. “Thank you,” Lola said, opening her eyes to look up at him. His golden luminescent eyes were studying her face with an intensity she wasn’t used to.

"And when you were twelve and found that injured bird in the yard, do you remember? You held it in your hands, and its broken wing began to mend." I remember. I'd thought it was normal, that everyone could feel the flow of healing energy through their fingertips. It wasn't until I saw Mum's expression that I realised it wasn't. "The healing touch is rare," Dad explains. "Even among omegas. It's... highly prize." The way he says it sends a chill through me. Dorian looked between us, confusion plain on his face. "There's an easy way to tell," Elias said, drawing his knife. "Let's see which one heals." Before anyone could respond, he slashed the doppelganger's arm. She screamed, holding the wound. "Your turn," he said to me. I held out my arm. The blade bit into my skin, but instantly the wound glowed blue and closed itself. "The healing touch," Dorian whispered. "It is you." The doppelganger's face twisted with hate. "You'll regret this," she hissed, her form changing, melting until she looked nothing like me. She turned and ran into the trees.

Her touch was impossibly cold as she guided my hands to his chest. My gaze met hers. She gave me a gentle, encouraging smile. “Feel that,” she whispered. A warm current pulsed beneath my hands—small at first, but growing, spreading outward like a ripple in a still pond. “You are a healer,” she said. “Your touch can save him.” Before I could reply, she vanished, but the heat under my palms remained, intensifying until it burst into a blinding white light. A moment later, Lex’s chest heaved. He gasped, sucking in a desperate breath.

I want to ask why my innocent question makes his pain sharp enough that I feel myself reaching out to heal him without conscious thought. Just as I place mental fingers on the most ragged of the tears to his soul, I realize what I’m doing and jerk away. If this guy—this Mack figures out what I am, he’ll tell his alpha for sure, and that’ll be it. There’ll be no leaving for me, ever. “I’m tired,” I announce before turning my head away to stare at the bookcase, even though I know it’s rude.
