Skylar's POV The dreadful day from yesterday had ended and it was yet another day to keep surviving urghhhh I never craved for my home this much. Mila was bouncing next to me. “Sky, oh my God, he’s on fire today! Look at him!” she whispered, eyes wide. “Ryder. He’s insane. And hot. So hot.” I rolled my eyes. “Mila. He’s pissed off. You want him hot, I’ll show you hot on fire chaotic, lethal hot. You’re lucky he doesn’t murder someone on the ice first.”

The container sat open on the ice. Water pooled around it, thin streams still finding their way through cracks and channels beneath the surface, dripping slowly into the drainage system Victor had forced into motion. The hum had stopped, but the rink hadn’t fully settled. There was a faint shifting sound beneath our feet, the echo of something that had been disturbed after too many years of stillness. Jaxon stood close behind me. Not touching. But close enough. I could feel the heat of him through the cold. That steadiness grounded me more than I wanted to admit.

Jai said, holding his index finger up as he slipped into his mind for a bit. Darrion raised his eyebrows. “What?” ‘Cold properties? Weapons? Then that means there are monsters with fire element as the target. Nobody would make a weapon that has cold property if it is not used to cut something hot,’ Jai thought. He somehow remembered Miria told him something about fire slime and that Usha brought one home when Jai was in the kingdom. And the fire slime was dead. Somehow he felt his pride pierced because he felt he had lost to a tiny kitten.
