Just like the ones I taught. There were three things I believed were important in this world. Fashion, friendship, and magic. Not necessarily in that order. Sure, it was always important to look your best, and magic was the coolest thing on the planet, but if I had to choose between a gorgeous new top from Bloomingdale's or my best friend Snow, I would choose Snow. Without even batting a false eyelash. Yes, she was a little awkward and couldn't put an outfit together to save her life. But, she had a heart bigger than the Grand Canyon and cared for me and all supernaturals like we were her family.

I got to live a peaceful life with my parents and these creatures here, but in my heart, I miss my friends, the farmhouse, and Dominic. I sigh as I dip a finger in the crystal waters that contact healing magic. I swirl around and watch the glitter effect. A wood fairy latches on my hand, giving himself a ride. All the other fairies with him joined in. "Lippy, what's wrong, child?" I look over my shoulder to see Dad standing there. I sat up and pulled on frown. "I haven't received any mind links from my friends. I don't know what happened. Why can't I contact them?"

Elphame rose from her chair and gripped Bernie’s double chin with a bejeweled hand, “Are your eyes normally blue?” “Yes.” “You don’t have magic,” Elphame looked directly into the camera, “If your eyes have changed color, you have been gifted by magic. We are working with your ineffective governments to get ahead of this problem. Remain, calm humans. We ask all children with magic be supervised at all times.” Nerea turned off the T.V. She stared at Warren with concern, “Guapito, looks like you and I will be spending a lot of time together for the next little while.”

She would become his new master and- I sit up suddenly with a shout. “Raf!” He is so startled that he nearly falls off the couch. “What?” “Clear the room.” I gesture around the room wildly. “Make it the bare inside of the lamp.” “What?” He looks so confused. “Take away your magic.” I tell him, slowly. Allowing him to catch up to my mile a minute thoughts. I smile at him. “The inside of the lamp, with nothing hindering it. I can rub it. A person has to rub the lamp to become your master. Who says it has to be from the outside?”

However, Freda seemed to be out of mana in an instant. The magic user summoned the water again. But before the remaining enemies could move, a green magic circle materialized, hitting the magic user. He fell to the ground as if having a convulsion. “You can use magic?” Frode was surprised, but he stayed alert. “It wasn’t me.” Malaika said, “It must be Xoxo.” Xoxo crawled outside her fur cloak. “Your cute companion can wield magic? I didn’t know it was a magical creature.” Frode shook his head and assaulted the enemy.

I asked, looking up. "A cinnamon roll," Maverick grinned. "I remember you mentioned you liked the ones from this place. Eat it while it's fresh. I gotta go to practice, but I'll text you later, okay?" "Okay," I whispered. "Thank you, Mave." Hearing me use his nickname in public made his smirk widen. He flashed me a quick wink, turned around, and jogged out of the café to catch up with his team. I opened the paper bag, the warm, sweet scent of cinnamon filling the air. I took a bite and found myself smiling stupidly from the sweetness of the pastry.

I watch in awe as the twins radiate a white light that pushes out to the water, and the sludge of blackness turns into a sparkling blue. The animals that had been bobbing on the water were burned to ash where they sat. I wonder if Chloe's magic is similar to her brothers? I've never seen her use it before. But I can't wait to see it. Right now I can feel it coursing through my veins and it's a heady feeling. I love our magic mingling together.

Every story has a beginning, some good, some bad, mine has never been a happy one, no matter who, or how I tell it, nobody will believe me. I can't rely on the people in my life, My parents ignore me, or are cruel to me, my friends are unreliable, and aren't trustworthy either. So what happens when I turn 16 years old, and run away from my problems to another world, only to find myself in the same magical world I played make belief in as a kid? With heartbreak at every turn, and a possible new relationship on the horizon, what could possibly go wrong in this world that hasn't happened to me on Earth?!
