Celeste was the face of the Accords—liaison to the human government, administrator over Storm Academy in Utah, basically a superhero who’d traded fangs for diplomatic immunity. Rey stopped the boring conversation. "Papa, have you heard about Marvel?" asked Rey, and instantly Rendi's face stiffened. "Marvel is Ryan Atmadja's son, right? The former was Keysha's future husband, and was it an accident?" Rendi asked Rendi to make sure again. Yes, Pa, who else if not Marvel Atmadja? What's the news?" Ellen actually joined in on the conversation between Rey and Rendi. "Marvel has been found," Rey replied, immediately making Rendi's expression change.

Half of me expects to see Mjollnir flying through the gymnasium windows, but of course, that would be cliché; it isn’t like this is a Marvel movie. The windows and the doors begin to shake fiercely as Hilda calls upon her forefathers to lend her the strength she needs to defeat me. I can see Miles out of my peripheral pacing back and forth; even the professor looks like she’s not sure what to do in this situation. Being a demigod, Hilda is one of the stronger students in this school, and if she loses control of her powers, it could be devastating. One of the two students sitting by the table jumped up and held out a crimson balloon. “Happy belated birthday!” he exclaimed, his eyes on my mark. A smile cracked on his lips, and he peered up to me. “It isn’t much, but we hope you like it. Welcome to Academia of the Moon. You’re going to love it here.” It took me a moment to recuperate from surprise before accepting the balloon and offering a smile. “Uh, thank you?” I glanced at Ariah. “What’s going on?”

"A hunky human boyfriend and two handsome ghosts who have the hots for you, one of which is a Viking, I used to drool over that show when it was on TV." I throw a pillow at her and she laughs. "This isn't a mini-series, this is my life." "Right." She sits up, straightening her shoulders. "And who is the new ghost by the way?" "Not sure. He looks like one of the paintings on the wall." She snaps her fingers. "That's where I've seen him before. I didn't get a good look at him before as I was at a distance. That's Benjamin Davers. He's the founder of the Academy."
