Or two,” I whispered, bouncing from one foot to another, my head down. “By mistake.” I quickly added, wringing my fingers together. Auren’s wings flexed slightly, a ripple of tension passing through his massive body. But he didn’t recoil. He didn’t judge. Instead, he stepped closer, tilting his head so his gaze met mine.
