THE TRAIL CURVED THROUGH the tall trees for at least a mile. The air smelled alive with the scent of redwoods, eucalyptus, and damp air. Blue jays darted through the trees, chasing smaller birds with loud caws. I soaked in the freshness of the forest, feeling grounded by its simplicity. Exhilarated, I ran faster and Zander and I settled into a comfortable pace that allowed us to still chat. Occasionally, Zander ran backwards. My fast pace was barely a trot for him, but he didn't seem to mind.

"Can you please give me my backpack as I still got a drawing and colouring to do?" Prince Willem saw the backpack as he nodded his head and he stood up. Prince Willem strode over to Belle Rose's backpack and he got hold of it by the handle. Prince Willem was surprise to find how heavy the bag is and he queried. "What on earth have you got in here and how many did you bring?" Prince Willem brought the backpack over to the bed and he gave it to Belle Rose as she replied. "Two books, three notebooks, four pens and two metal tin of colouring pencils. A quill pen feather and an ink pot. I draw something that might take you by surprise and I hope that you will like it."

Immediately I dropped Carmen gently on the bed and wiped her lips, I turned to Silver for answers. Silver started, pulling out his favorite collection of books. I always wondered why Silver had such a book since it had no particular aura to it. It was not even fortified, just a random notebook that looked scribbled by a child. “I always loved nature,” Silver touched the pages of the book with so much yearning and melancholy. “When I was eighteen, I got obsessed with nature, not just love. I would go out of my way and make a trip to forests, climb mountains, go cave diving and just document it.”

"I have a feeling you’re a lot more adventurous than you look, Cathy. Michael thinks so too. He hasn't stopped talking about how 'observant' you are." Cathy felt a chill that had nothing to do with the air conditioning. "He said that?" "In so many words," Iris said, standing up. "I'm going to go find him. We’re going to the lake later. You should come. It’ll be fun to see you out of your element." As Iris walked away, Cathy watched her, wondering if the girl was as oblivious as she acted, or if she was playing a game of her own. The house felt smaller than it had yesterday, the walls closing in.

She probably didn't want him knowing everything about her people, lest he used it against them. The climb up the chasm took them almost all day. When they finally reached the top the sun had almost gone down. They were exhausted but glad to finally have the worst of it over with. “I never...” Fenryn began, breathlessly, “...ever want to do that again. Ever.” Lynnette gave a dry chuckle, “you will jinx yourself again if you keep that up.” Fenryn gave her a crafty grin, “I can only hope my future involves more adventure.” He said with amusement. Looking around, he frowned a little.

_________ ~Natalie’s POV~ I zoned out staring at the beautiful stage setting view before my eyes. I’m going to miss this gorgeous, magical, jaw-dropping ambiance. Words would hardly do any justice to describe the breathtaking, panoramic, and majestic mountains. The dramatic white icy giant glaciers, and their flat crystalized frozen lakes. This arctic tundra has an awe-inspiring, captivating scenery to die for. It’s like a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and I am so thrilled I got to experience it. I finally got to see the famous Northern lights. While I was here I made sure I took mental pictures of this gorgeous place. They will forever stay with me until I pass.

The thrill of discovery electrified the air, anticipation thrumming at their backs as they set forth on the adventure that awaited them beyond the safety of the shore. The jungle engulfed them in a riot of greens and browns, thick foliage cloaking the path ahead like a living tapestry, vibrant blooms glowing with hidden secrets beneath the dappled light. Amelia felt the pulse of life around her—every rustle of leaves, every distant call of exotic creatures intertwining in a chaotic symphony of nature.

I ran my hand over the cover and opened it looking for an empty page for a new start. “Today, I explored nature still in this house. I didn't even go far, yet I felt the true value of it. It was beautiful and amazing. I went with a maid who has proven herself worthy to be called a friend. I learned that there are so many people out here passing through hidden trials. You will never know if they don't tell you, and if you've not experienced it, you may never understand.”

He nodded and rode away, leaving me standing before the gates of Wolvehowl Pack—a place that looked more like a beautiful entrance to hell. The air was heavy, foreboding. I knew there was no turning back. If I didn’t go inside, I’d be hunted down or worse. I straightened my back, took a deep breath, and stepped forward, praying to the Moon Goddess for strength. Whatever awaited me inside, I would face it. Because at this point, I had nothing left to lose.
