He just throws his arm over my shoulders, offering his unspoken support of my secret secret crush. I scoff at myself internally. Here I was thinking I was ammune to his charm. I even pitied Marla for her crush and later obsession but here I was in her shoes. Everyone's comments over the past few weeks had fed my secret daydream. All his glances where just that, glances. He gives them to every prey that he sets his eyes upon. I was just a wounded gazelle begging the big bad lion to put me out of my misery. "God how could I be so stupid," I silently ask the lord.

I was falling apart all over again. The bond between them was strong; nothing could break it. Everything they had gone through only made them closer. “Miss me, little sister?” he asked, laughing as he hugged her tight. I kept quiet, stuck right where I was, like always whenever he showed up. I’d show up, smile like Anna, make small talk, and slip out by midnight at the latest. I tried to go back to my book, but my thoughts kept drifting. The truth was, I had a secret crush on Jay. My heart starts beating fast and all I want to do is hide. I storm out of the kitchen and run up the stairs into my room, locking the door. I rest my head against the door and close my eyes as my heart beats fast. How did he know I have a crush on Jude? Was I that obvious? God, I am so embarrassed.
