It was mostly empty since my other cars were at the company, so I easily located the entrance to the secret room. The door to that room was plastered with the pastel walls. Per its mechanism, it was constructed to open only with three specific pushes. I rolled my chair to the wall ahead and positioned myself. Seconds later, the slim door slid open, and we went into the barely broad corridor, my chest thudding harder. There was a curfew so there were more guards around than ever. My heart beat faster the closer I got. Bastian was waiting at the secret room. We arrived at a part of the mansion I had never seen. Damon moved toward a large, ornate painting on the wall and pressed lightly on a hidden switch behind it. The painting swung open, revealing a narrow doorway leading to a dimly lit room that smelled slightly of old wood and polished leather. “This is our secret space,” he said softly, stepping aside to let me enter. Her expression didn’t change. “Second, under no circumstances are you to reveal your identity as a hybrid.
