I opened my mouth to speak but was dumbfounded and short of words. "Thank you," Amelia told the receptionist and she called on a lady who sat on the couch. The young lady walked up to her and she passed by me, handing one of the bags to the girl when I noticed her wedding ring. It has to be one of the costliest in the state, I thought as I saw it glitter. She was at the door of a car the next moment and I was shocked again to see my sister hop in on a car known for its price and cost.

I loved how form fitting they were, they accented my curves in the right manner. "You're taking basic way too literally," she chucked at my choice and I shrugged at her. She put it on me and it was a stretchy material so it was really nice sitting on me. "That's got to be one of the fastest fittings we've ever had." She commented while I kept admiring myself in the full length mirror. We left to join the girls and my jaw dropped when I saw my sister in her wedding dress. It was fitted from neck to sleeves to waist but the bottom half was a flare lace part. It was so heavy and flowed around her in a circular pattern.

I put on a bright smile and joined the group of six. “What are you doing here?” My mother asked through gritted teeth. My smile didn't waver. I simply pulled her in for a hug that was sure to make her more annoyed. “I didn't realise I wasn't allowed to attend my own sister's wedding?” I said still smiling. Said sister was glaring at me so I took it as an opportunity to also pull her in a bone crushing hug, making sure my jewelry of choice was in her line of sight before my body collided with hers.

What a beautiful ring. Tell me something, who engaged you?" She asked, battering her lashes and I found myself laughing at that. She is too funny. "You are not saying anything? Is it your secret lover?" She asked another question before I could answer the first one. I was lost actually on what to tell her.

She asked, staring at her sister's eyes, searching for answers. Jennifer chuckled a bit, sliding of the discussion, as they spent the next hour laughing and chatting, Erica's gaze finally fell on her sister's hand, her eyes widened in surprise. "Is that an engagement ring ? " Jennifer's gaze moved to her hand, how was she going to explain this? She quickly looked away, acting nonchalant. "I'll explain it all once you get better Erica." She replied, cupping her sister's face in her palm.

“You told me I can end this whenever I want, right?” His jaw clenched, but he nodded once. My fingers trembled as I slid the ring from my finger. The weight of it was heavier than I’d ever realized. I pressed it into his palm and forced the words out, my voice raw. “I do.” Then I walked past him, out of the house, out of the mess, out of everything. Or at least, that’s what I told myself.
