Then his gaze stopped at Avery. “You, you were with that girl. You’re sisters?” “Yes.” “Why did your sister do this?” Avery thought carefully. “The answer will upset you.” “Tell me. Please, everyone. I jerk my head towards the eatery. "You didn't call me," he says teasingly. "I'll call you, next time." Esther hikes the strap of her bag higher up. "Thanks, Esther." But he is looking at me, not Esther. "She wants to pick Krystal from school," Esther tells James then she turns to me and says, "I have always thought your brother had a...rare name." I smile. "Luc named him." We are walking to the car, James links his fingers in mine, I love the way he looks in an oversize tie and dye hoodie.

That, at least was something to avenge for. “Zoe.” She heard Avery’s voice in her thoughts and turned to see him standing by the door. Quickly, she slipped the ring into her middle finger, pretending to be admiring it. “It was given to me by my father.” She said, standing to her feet when Avery came to stand beside her. “I remembered it when I got home and decided to bring it with me.” “Why?” Avery asked, looking at the ring and her face carefully. “I don’t know.” She responded, looking into his eyes. “Maybe I brought it with me to remind me that not all men are liars.”

She almost screamed to vent her sadness over what happened to Avery. The only sibling she had had an accident and was lying in a coma. She remembered that at breakfast they were still joking at the dining table and talking about fun things. Avery was her biological older sister, her only support after her father died. Avery always protected her from her stepmother, who could sometimes be cruel. Avery was even responsible for running the company left behind by their father, which was almost bankrupt. Did you just find your tongue right now?” Her eyes caught the sparkling diamond on Avery’s ring finger and her eyes turned green with jealousy. Even she has not been able to wear a ring as expensive as that so where did Avery get it? Even Avery’s long hair looked extremely beautiful as if she just had a hair transplant. “Where did you get that ring?”

She couldn't believe that her sister claimed that she was healthy despite that she was coming too early in her next life. She bit her lips and didn't say anything to protest. Ava stayed with her in the same room but she was nervous that James might rejected her. She was sure that the man who had been teaching her sister was her mate. "Yeah. But your sister is a bitch. And I wouldn't be surprised if you were planning something against her." Ava thought about what he had said. "This isn't just about me, is it? This is also about you. You aren't just feeling guilty for what you did to me. You've been treated worse as well, haven't you?" James sighed, and said, "Yeah. But that's a long, brutal story. When you're back in the States, and if you ever make up your mind, call me." He slid his card across the table and got to his feet. "I am the only one who can help you, Ava Winters. And if I were you, I'd take it."
