I’ve decided to use Verity's bed so I can leave after without any hassle. “Good evening Verity, ready for some fun?” I drawl in a husky voice. Verity squeals as she jumps in fright. “How did you get in here?” she shouts as she jumps off the bed and races towards me. Her face is contorted in anger. “Through the connecting door,” I bark out laughing at her reaction. I must admit she is cute when she’s angry.

“Yeah, kinda. I sent someone to get lemons and lime for Tequila shots and I'm shocked it's not here yet.” “Which of the girls did you send? They've got pregnant feet?” The humor in my tone masked the obsessive question causing a storm in my head. “Haha, of course not,” there was an unease to her tone and even now, she was very uncomfortable. Veronica was an open book, too easy to read and that was why I trusted her. “V?” “Hmm?” Her eyes looked lost for a moment. She pushed away from where she leaned on her desk. “You know what, I'm just gonna make a call-”

I frowned, knowing that Veronica was one of the slaves at White Hills Pack Academy that wanted the Triple L. “Mom, Veronica and I aren’t close. She doesn’t treat me like I’m her cousin. She always acts superior and like she is better than me,” I said after closing the album. Mom frowned and asked me, “Do you want me to call Veronica tomorrow and speak with her to get along with you?” “No need, Mom. I have a good friend, Vivian Adams. But I am afraid she is a werewolf too. But she never told me anything about wolves.”

Unmoved. “Do you have a job?” “I do,” she replies casually. “Nothing major. Just a personal assistant in the city.” She reaches into her pocket and pulls out the card I gave her years ago. “Here. I won’t be needing this anymore.” I don’t take it. “What are you playing at, Veronica?” “No game.” She raises her hands slightly. “I’m done wandering. I want a pack. A home. You know wolves don’t function alone.” Liar, Aero snaps.

Like she was giving me some piece of advice I didn't know I needed. “Do you have an appointment, Miss….?” If I tell her Elcot, she’ll know it’s me. If i say Finn,... i can feel my stomach rebelling against it already. “Ver. Verentia, but Ver for short.” Regina sighs, and I catch a glimpse of eye bags that weren’t there when I was around. By now she’d have snapped and her tone would have changed, but all I can hear is fatigue in her voice as she picks up the landline, presses a button, and speaks, “Client for Mr Finn. A lady by the name of Verentia, but Ver for short. She has a scarf and sunshades on.”

Well, putting away all of that aside, Natasha had hit the shower and put on a fresh pair of blue jeans with a pink top and a white sweater before getting into white sneakers. She let her blond hair rest above her shoulders as she grabbed a bag and put something in a sort of cage right next to her closet. "Come on out, V," she started after setting down what she had put at the base of the cage. A moment later, something slithered out from a dark corner of the cage. A snake;a green viper to be exact. Taika had given her the snake when she and her mother had gone on a visit to Hawaii, where she had learnt was her birth place.

I lay in the dark with my eyes open until the sky outside the windows began to turn from black to deep blue. My phone lit up at four fifty-three. Veronica. One word. "Out"
