My phone buzzes against my work desk making me jump a little from the loud vibration. X: I wanted to see you, I miss you, are you sure you’re okay baby? Me: ya I’m fine. Miss you too I’m not fine though, this day will never be fine.

he said again but all he got was a buzz. "Smith, where....." a voice came live from the walkie talkie but was cut short with the buzz sound again. "Major Mark do you copy" he said into the talkie again, he's getting impatient. "I'm out" Austin said switching his SCAR riffle to his GP100 .357 revolver and put a big hole in the head of a female infected . "What's going on Smith?" I asked out of frustration. "The signal is weak" he replied trying to connect Major Mark again.

“Put some ointment on it when you get back.” Xena smiled faintly and handed him a medical report. “The results came out today. Take a look.” Felix frowned as he read through it. “I’ve already asked Dr. Liam to lead the team. I’m confident there will be good news soon. Just wait a little longer.”

I examined the body and found out marks. "Carry out an X-ray scan on his bones and send me the report" "Yes sir," I walked into my office, pulled off my clinical wear and bent over on my table, exhaling deeply. "Similar issues rising everyday. Thank goodness, he is not dead yet" There came a knock on my door, I quickly sat down and turned myself on the sit to face the door, "Come in" Tracy walked into the office, "Dr, here is the result" I pulled the result out from the envelope and ran my eyes through it. Something captured my attention.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that I was pushed off the stairs. "Professor Xander hasn't told anyone about what happened, right?" I asked. "He reported the incident of course. They didn't ask too many questions but if you want to file a complaint then his report would help you in your claim. I can also give you a copy of the medical report I've written, if you need it." He said sincerely. "No, I would like you to keep that one for now. Though, I might need it in the future." I replied. "Alright. Can I run some tests on you? This is related to Xander's theory of why for some reason your magic is being depleted or something." He said.

You should attend to your clients," I said. I didn’t look at him and walked upstairs to my room. I laid my head on Xavier’s pillow and opened my phone’s screen to see texts from Xavier. Xavier: Is everything okay? Me: No, I keep throwing up. I don’t know what is going on with me. Xavier: Why didn’t you tell me before, Nix? I would have skipped the work tonight. Me: That’s why I didn’t tell you. It’s fine. I guess it’s just food poisoning. Xavier: from a few days? Me: Baby, don’t worry. I have taken meds and I will be off to bed soon. Be back soon, I miss you. Xavier: Okay, but if you feel like that again, visit a doctor. Once I get back home, I will make sure I take you to the doctor myself

The report had to be perfect, after all. When I finally knocked on Xander’s office door and entered, I was met with the same coldness I had seen earlier. He was seated behind his desk, his gaze fixed on the files. His expression was unreadable, his jaw tense. “Here’s the report you asked for,” I said, my voice steady even though my hands trembled slightly. He took the file from me without looking up and flipped it open. The silence stretched out between us, thick and suffocating.
