Letting myself fall into the spiral of how the hell I landed here of all places after I hit rock bottom… Even here, in the extension of my sanctuary, the air feels so thin. The ground so dry, and the water muddy by comparison to the Blue Mountains. Something no amount of furs, tak, or animal by-product we bring will change. Every time I come to the Falls, even near the Wall, I feel this ache. The haze of a storm cloud that does alter the landscape, but makes it dim even in the blinding rays of the twins. Two suns, three moons. They call them the twins, and triplets—but there’s only one real question:

“Well, first we need to plan our route to the falls.” “The falls?” I ask. “What falls?” “Blue Cliff,” she states, as if it’s obvious. “That’s what this pack is named after, correct? The waterfalls that fall over Blue Cliff. That’s the entrance to the realm the moon goddess resides in. That cliff is where your kind was created, and it’s where she was cursed.” “Those falls?” I grunt, rubbing my chin as I rake through my memories. “Honey, I’ve lived here my entire life, been to that cliff and those falls more times than I can count, and I never saw anything like that there. It’s just rocks and water.”

At Midnight tonight, Sage would officially be eighteen, and we would know for sure what we were to one another. “Dax, please, I have enough to concentrate on today. I can’t have you going crazy in my mind. Once we get to Silver Springs, and take care of what needs to be handled immediately, we will go for a run to the hot springs after. Deal?” I asked. He quieted down, apologized and said that we had a deal. The hot springs are our favorite place in the pack, because of its healing ability. No matter how stressed out I am, or sore I am from training, the hot springs heals my mind and body.

[Leah’s POV] "Asher..." I gasped, taking in the scene ahead of me. "This is..." "Amazing, right?" Asher smirked. Nodding, I found myself at a loss for words as I took in the large valley thousands of feet below where we stood. I knew that Mysterium Gorge was named for its splendor, but I had no idea that it would be this amazing. It was like something from a kids' fairytale story, with its glowing river that calmly flowed over sparkling pebbles and glowing algae. I almost had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

“…You said you know where the third artifact is.” Sybil stands slowly. “Yes. So let’s get some rest.” All of us look at her. She points toward the rising mist where the waterfall crashes into the pool below. “That way.” I stare at the rushing water. “You’re kidding.” Sybil shakes her head. I look where she’s pointing, the edge of the falls. Where the water drops by more than 100 feet. Way past it, I swear I see a little town. “The magic is strongest in that direction. I can feel it.”

She made her way across the roof, her eyes fixed on the fence in the distance. With a deep breath, Emma sprinted towards the fence, her eyes fixed on the top. She could see the darkness of the surrounding woods beyond, and her heart lifted with hope. She reached the fence and began to climb, her fingers digging into the metal mesh. As she ascended, the sound of alarms blared to life, and spotlights illuminated the roof. Emma's heart sank, but she didn't look back. She kept climbing, her muscles burning with effort. Finally, she reached the top and swung her legs over, dropping down to the ground on the other side. The impact jarred her ankles, but she rolled with the fall, using the momentum

she asked, leaning forward to get a better look. “Nothing you need to worry about right now,” Professor Thorne said, but her grip on the steering wheel tightened. They drove for another ten minutes before the trees opened up, and Maya’s breath caught in her throat. Mystic Grove Academy stood at the top of a hill, made of grey stone that looked like it had been there for centuries. Ivy crawled up the walls, windows glowed warm gold even though it was still early morning, and towers rose up into the sky like something out of a fairy tale. But there was something else about it ….a weight in the air, like the whole place was holding secrets deep in its foundations.
