He asked, his voice heavy with menace. Despite even what he said, I just couldn't watch him remain that way, given how urgent it was that I provided any aid, I said to him, "I don't know, maybe if we can get some mint leaves, it could help sustain his system," I said. "Yes, just ask them around for some mint leaves." My words came again, firmer this time around, as I realised it could greatly be of help since I had always prepared mint tea for him during his episodes, even though I had never seen him so down and so broken before.

I murmured, flashing a small smile of my own. The maid nodded and started sweeping the floor. My mind whirled with questions. I struggled to piece together the fragments of memory from the night before, but all I could recall was the bitter taste of tequila and other hard alcoholic drinks on my tongue and the blur of Ryan’s face hovering over me. Then the maid suddenly stopped sweeping and my eyes darted back to her. “Would you need something else, ma'am?" She asked and I shook my head vehemently. “Thank you. I'll just let you know when I do."

Ivy crawled up the walls, windows glowed warm gold even though it was still early morning, and towers rose up into the sky like something out of a fairy tale. But there was something else about it ….a weight in the air, like the whole place was holding secrets deep in its foundations.

"Drink up while it's hot! It's organic matcha from Erewhon. I added honey and MCT oil." Victoria held the slightly sweet, green liquid with a perfect smile on her face. "Tomorrow is your last SAT. This will get your brain in peak condition." I stared at the delicate bone china cup. I swallowed hard. But for some reason, alarm bells were ringing in my head. Don't drink it. "I didn't even make any for Mason," Victoria whispered, like it was a precious secret.

My body is sore and my brain feels foggy and confused. The trials were supposed to last two days, but I don’t feel like I lost a whole day and a half, yet something tells me I have lost years. I am so scrambled. Selyna places a mug in my hands and coaxes me to sip the warm liquid. It is sweet and a little creamy, with bitter undertones of strong black tea and warming spices. “It’s Chai tea” she smiles faintly. I can see the hint of worry that she is trying to mask. “Storm grabbed the first tea container in the cabinet, I am guessing.”

“Please Alpha,” “If anything goes out of line, I can’t assure you that I won’t act.” He replied calmly and I nodded. Hopefully, nothing went out of line. I exhaled deeply as I pushed the wooden door open only to be welcomed with the familiar scent of booze. One would think this place was a beer parlor but in fact, this was a gathering place for all species. It was a shop for all kinds of artifacts, weapons, grimoires, potions and of course, ingredients. Their gazes fell on us and some of the people there who knew me simply gave knowing gazes.

There was a bright red straw in the shape of an arrow stabbing in from the top right corner. Inside the cup, meanwhile, was a pink fluid, and a strong scent of tea rushed up to her nose. Charmine was stunned. This tea…was the pink tea! Why did Anthony buy her the tea? Did he…? As she was caught up in her thoughts, Anthony’s low and magnetic voice rang, “Alice Wonderland Tea. They sell nine cups per year, using autumn peach petals and snow mountain tea leaves.” He handed a greeting card to Charmine as he spoke.

Tsk. I turned back to the kitchen without saying a word. Ugh... I'm so annoyed. She makes me so annoyed every time. It is her specialty. I plugged the coffee maker, poured water into it, and put in a bag of Jasmine tea. Of all tea, I love drinking Jasmine tea. It is subtly sweet and highly fragrant. As I waited for the droplets to finish, I mumbled different kinds of spells to punish that devious heiress. "Shimmie shimmie kokobop," I mumbled the last spell, but of course who am I kidding? I'm not some sort of witch or something with power.
