I took off my watch and put it on his bed, wearing it was a constant reminder of where I was supposed to be and what I was supposed to be doing, and what I was doing. The melancholic tune Dathan played was the perfect soundtrack to my jumbled thoughts, till A knock interrupted both Dathan and I. It was gentle enough, but still distracted us. I sat still, wondering who it could be. Dathan stood up and went to the door, unlocking it. “Hi Nala.” He greeted her with a very warm smile. “I'm here for Luna, on the Alphas' command.” Nala said, not smiling. “What does that mean?” Dathan asked her.

Behind me, I could still hear Blaire as she demanded that Nalia stop running like a coward and all that, but even with that, the person pulling me never stopped.

But suddenly, someone lifted my chin, and a stubbly face appeared in my sight. "Though she's worthless, she sure is pretty." The man licked his lips, his foul breath making me want to vomit. "Don't touch me!" I pushed him hard, suppressing my disgust. "Even if I'm not your Luna, I'm still Alpha Hector's mate!" Another round of laughter followed. "But does Alpha still care about you?" "Right, you've been abandoned by Alpha." "Alpha is with Vanessa now, he doesn't care about you!" A man grabbed my waist, pretending to kiss me. "Since Alpha doesn't want you, why not please us?"

The healer slowly turned to Luke, eyes narrowed in worry and fascination. “Tell me about the Alpha who did this,” she said quietly. “Who is she and whose child is she?” Luke shook his head helplessly. “I know nothing about her,” he murmured. “I only know… she was a Luna who became an Alpha.” The healer froze, her breath catching in her throat. “A Luna…” she whispered. “Who became an Alpha?”

Nathan’s POV. *****A Day Before Alana’s Rejection***** I smirked when I thought of Alana, our moments together replayed in my head as if it was yesterday. The day I decided that she’d be mine and no one else’s. My lips pressed into a soft smile as my fingers trailed gently over my shirt, the one she wore after our night together. I couldn’t wait to announce to the pack that she would be their Luna soon. A knock on the door drew my attention away from my reflection in the mirror. The knock sounded again this time more urgent and impatient.

How could it not be with this god awful scar marring my face and screaming to them with every glance that their new alpha is a branded criminal? “Please, go feast, and enjoy a wonderful dinner on behalf of your Alpha and Luna,” Julian says, stepping forward. The pack slowly disperses and with every lingering member that leaves, I can feel Lana’s control slipping. Close enough that I had to tilt my head to meet his eyes.
