Nana Shimura Death Novels & Stories

“You said you had something important to tell me. I’m listening… but make it quick. I don’t have all the time in the world to sit here.” Clara cleared her throat. She looked a bit nervous now, fingers twisting together on the table. “Like I said on the phone, I know something about Nana’s death. I know how she died and who killed her.” I stared at her. Nana’s death had always looked like suicide to everyone else, but I knew clearly that she would never take her own life. But something in Clara’s eyes made my stomach tighten, a feeling that she might actually know the truth. “How do I know you’re telling the truth?” I asked.

“Under the bridge leading to the South. She’s been stabbed in the chest, right through her heart which caused her death. Then the criminal stuffed her inside the barrel and throw it in the river in attempt to hide its crime." “T-That's cruel.” “Truly, and…” Takumi paused. “Even if you want it or not, I'm really gonna drive you home. You might get into an accident in your condition, you looked even paler.” Samantha was about to answer when she spotted something standing at the end of the hallway behind Takumi. Her eyes squinted—and—froze. “Shane, hey! You really don’t look fine. Let me just...”

“Nana did well. She saved me quickly and made the whole plan for me. I’m thankful for that.” Her eyes shimmered, and she looked away for a second as if she were holding something back. “So, what about Nana?” she asked, her voice quiet. “Did she come with you?” My heart dropped. It was hard to say, harder than I could have imagined. I didn’t want to say it, but the words came out anyway. “Nana is dead,” I told her, and the silence that followed was suffocating. “She didn’t make it.”

He immediately changed directions and swam toward Tilly. He pulled Tilly up to the riverbank. When he turned back to look, Dana was lost under the water, right under a huge whirlpool. Samuel dejectedly hugged Tilly. He muttered to himself, "Nina, it's fine. Daddy's here…" At that moment, I could see the darkness form in Tilly's eyes. Dana died at the hands of her own daughter. Even Samuel went mad too. He treated Tilly as Nina. A year later on Nina's death anniversary, a group of people gathered in front of Nina's graveyard with reddened eyes.

“Grandma, you’re all I have got too, we will both take care of the kids so get well—“ Her statement was cut off when the hospital monitor machine started to beep. Her heart status on the machine drew a parallel line and it was at 0%. “G-grandma? No, Not now! Grandma! Don’t die on me, Grandma!” Rina yelled as her tears flow down to her cheek like a running tap. “Doctors!” She called out. The doctor in charge ran in and check her pulse but he couldn’t feel it, his face dropped. “Time of death: 4:30 pm, 23rd of June 2020. Mrs. Hilda James is dead,” He announced and Rina fell from her seat crying.

No one ever brought it up, and her name was never mentioned. “I understand why no one ever told you about her. She died in a tragic way,” Shibata continued. “Someone killed her?” Ryu guessed. “No, worse than that. She committed suicide out of shame. She was ashamed when her brother, who was also serving as a minister at the time, was implicated in Kuryugumi’s illegal activities, which Jiro exposed. Suzume didn’t know that her brother was only carrying out what her husband had funded. Both siblings died in regret. Suzume’s brother couldn’t bear the guilt of his sister’s death and followed her not long after.”

“Is Nana ok?” “Oh, dear Jade. Nana died this afternoon,” she said sadly. “That’s not possible,” I said, shaking my head. “We were with her in the afternoon, remember?” “I know. After you left, I came back here to feed her lunch but she refused to eat and said she didn’t need a full stomach for her journey. “I thought she was being funny but a few minutes later, she closed her eyes and never woke up again.” “What if she fainted?” I asked. “Did you call your pack doctor?”
