YNNAH I arrived home completely dumbfounded by what I had just witnessed. I still couldn’t believe my eyes. I had seen things that only existed in fantasy stories and movies—things I never imagined I would encounter in real life. A sky that seemed to open up, emitting a blinding, dazzling light that hurt just to look at. A strange, faint cry echoing in the darkness—the sound of a man suffering in unimaginable pain. Something rushed past me, moving at such incredible speed that I couldn't even identify what it was. And then, behind that massive Narra tree… a single, silky black feather, beautiful and rare, soaked in fresh blood.

It’s like a tornado is forming and there is a lightning storm inside it, striking randomly. As I am trying to calm myself I don’t notice Ryan is now behind me. He wraps and arm me and places a hand on the top of my head. I can hear Nico trying to mind link me but I am struggling to answer back. “You are mine now.” Ryan is cast a spell and I can feel my mind become fuzzy. “Nico!” I yell through the mind link as I feel a cloud cover my mind. The tornado dissipates. I try to fight Ryan off of me but my body refuses to listen.

Nothing about him excites me enough to want to spend time with him. A devious thought crawls into my mind and I smile even wider; “No, I don’t mind. I’d like us to talk.” My chest constricts with guilt at the twinkle of excitement in his eyes. He retrieves his phone from his pocket and stretches it towards me; “My name is Hinata. Can I have your number?” I can feel the full weight of Bhyron’s stare on me now. He’s no longer concerned with being discreet. My blood pressure jumps with excitement.

A huge gust of wind came up and hit Wyatt in the gut and threw him back 15 feet. I couldn’t believe that just happened! I looked at my hands like they were from a foreign place. How did I just do that? ‘Nina, Run!’ Raven said to me. I looked up and saw Wyatt shift into a large black wolf. I took off running. I could feel him behind me. ‘Don’t look back, just run! I will help you!’ Raven gave me some of her speed and I could feel Wyatt fall behind me. I ran to the packhouse and didn’t stop for anyone. I ran straight up to my room and slammed the door.

Next, Selene placed a smaller ember circlet on Nyra’s brow ; Nyra held Selene’s hands as fire tendrils coiled around her wrists. Then Cyrion removed his leather pants ; fire ribbons danced across his thighs. He turned to Nyra : “Now, by flesh, we merge.” Nyra’s heart thundered ; the twins whimpered ; Ryker and Caelum clenched fists. Selene pressed a kiss to Nyra’s throat. “Go.”
