“Well, she’s pregnant. The baby was conceived with her bodyguard, while you two were still together. That doesn’t bother you?”
Much to my surprise, Nathan shook his head. “Of course not,” he said. “I’m happy for her. She thought that she could never get pregnant, but it seems as though she and her baby are both healthy. Who knows, maybe your kid and her kid can even be friends someday.”
It was a surprising response, but one that made me smile. I reached down and touched my growing belly, my cheeks flashing with warmth. “Yeah,” I replied, looking out the window at the trees that rushed by. “I think I’d like that.”
