~~~~~~Kyra's Dream~~~~ Smoke...gray and thick, so thick I can barely see ahead of me. The world around me is consumed by it, a choking haze. My eyes are itchy and watering, and my throat is sore and scratchy. The smoke claws at my lungs and stings my eyes. My breath is ragged and shallow, the acrid smell of burning wood and charred earth filling my nostrils. My vision is a blur of shifting shadows, and no matter where I turn, the smoke only seems to grow thicker, obscuring everything.

It could almost be described as pervasive. Xyris and Tyr also covered themselves with wet towels, but soon Tyr deliberately lost the damp towel. He realized that even this Dark Smoke Kodoku could not cause any harm to him. Xyris also released her green Koboku. Her Koboku fluttered in her surroundings as if they could swallow those black smoke. As a matter of fact, the black smoke also happened to be a sort of Kodoku. It was just that the bodies of those parasites were way too tiny to the naked eyes so that it looked like black smoke.

Panic gripped me. “Shit!” I cursed, grabbing my phone and dialing Nicholas’s number. A robotic voice informed me there was no network connection. Of course. The smoke thickened, stinging my eyes and filling my lungs. I coughed violently, stumbling toward the door. Every step felt heavier than the last, my limbs growing weaker. The realization hit me, this wasn’t ordinary smoke. It was designed to incapacitate. My vision blurred, and my knees buckled. “Fight it, Elena, you can't give in! You need to reach Nicholas” I whispered to myself, crawling toward the entrance. My strength faded with every breath. I barely noticed the dark silhouettes emerging from the haze.

Hayden was fighting the creature. “You’re light enough to step onto the trap but the creature isn’t,” said Smoke, pointing to the leaves. Cory trusted him. She stepped carefully onto the pile of leaves. She could feel something like a net under the crunchy leaves. She crunched her way to the centre of the pile. She could hear the sounds of the ligahoo facing off against Hayden. He would not be dying for her. She took a small dagger from her satchel and slit her own wrist. “LUNA!” Cried Smoke in shock as she smeared the leaves with her steadily falling blood.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw a flicker of orange light. Ronan lit a cigarette. He inhaled deeply, smoke billowing from his mouth as he sighed. “Damn, I have a game to watch. How much longer do we have to be here?” Ronan passed the cigarette to Kael. And he took a drag, exhaling with a quiet laugh. “You could at least pretend to care.” Ronan shrugged his shoulders, “That’s too much energy.” Soon, the sharp, bitter scent of smoke filled the air, making my stomach tighten. I gritted my teeth, every nerve in my body tensing.
