The party is already in full swing. People are scattered around the enormous backyard in groups mingling and drinking while others are at the buffet or dancing to the loud music being played by the dj. Lanterns and fairy lights are placed around the perimeter of the yard illuminating the clear night sky and a huge banner stretched across the entrance way reads "Happy Birthday Noah." My eyes scan the yard looking for the birthday boy himself. It doesn't take long before I'm able to spot him. He must've felt me looking at him because seconds later he looks my way.

Max said, "And to know that you're friends with Xefora is just amazing." I nodded in agreement, "Xefora is definitely getting popular these days. I think every girl knows them and adores them." Lance smiled, "Yeah, they've been working hard to make it in the music industry and it's paying off. They're amazing musicians and performers." "I hope they don't disband even after high school," I added, "I hope they continue to pursue their passion for music." Lance nodded, "Me too. They have so much talent and it would be a shame to see it go to waste. I have no doubt that they'll continue to make great music and entertain their fans for years to come."

I’m not used to running this slow, but it makes it even easier for me to keep my eyes on Rieka. I’m enjoying her music. I already knew she liked a wide variety of styles, but this playlist was something unique. I kept glancing at her phone sitting on the jogging stroller to make a mental note of the songs and artist that she enjoys listening to. “What’s Up Danger” from the Spiderman Into the Spider Verse movie “Treasure” by Bruno Mars “Pitiful” by a band called Blindside. I’ve never heard of them before, but I make the connection to her t-shirt. I’ll have to look up more of their stuff later.
