I admired the way his Adam’s apple bobbed when he swallowed as I cleaned the scratch on his neck. Even as I leaned in closer to clean a nick on his jaw line, I could not help but stare at his face. I admired the peach fuzz on his face, the little stubble on his chin, promising a beard. My traitorous eyes slightly rose to focus to his lips. His lips were slightly punk and raw from biting. A clearly expensive watch wraps itself around his thick wrist, his huge hand looks rough and profound veins travel everywhere. Luca’s POV The bruise on my jaw was turning yellow. That sickly, fading shade that meant it was healing whether I wanted it to or not. It was faint enough that no one mentioned it outright, but I caught people glancing; eyes were flicking, pausing for half a second too long before moving on like they hadn’t noticed anything at all. I didn’t bother covering it. Didn’t bother shaving properly either. The stubble along my jaw only made it stand out more, but I told myself I didn’t care.

GHOST I unclipped the red-striped tie that had been pressed firmly against my Adam's apple, allowing me to breathe deeper. “It wouldn't do to make a habit of strangling myself like this,” I whispered to my blurry reflection in the dirty mirror of the bar’s private restroom, turning my head this way and that to catch familiar hints of the rugged-looking man in the mirror.
