What… what was happening? Before I could ask, another warrior approached carrying a black cloak. Even though I am part wolf, he follows me and my orders nonetheless. Rage pulsed in my veins, my neck beginning to throb. I immediately linked with all other warriors outside their posts. “We have a trespasser. A male, part witch and part werewolf. Find him at all costs! And do not disappoint me,” I roared, making sure they got the message correctly. All my warriors responded with a huff. They knew what I meant when I ask them not to disappoint me, that is to come back with desired results, or it will be the end for their lives.

My thoughts were elsewhere, consumed by the mystery surrounding Akira. As the day wore on, I began to notice subtle shifts in the pack’s behavior. Warriors whispered in small groups, their gazes darting toward Miguel’s war room. Patrol leaders exchanged worried glances, their conversations abruptly ending whenever I approached. Something was brewing, and it wasn’t just the rogue attacks. I decided to investigate, starting with the warriors who had been on the patrol before mine. Wade jumped off the horse with Kanda in his arms like he carried a kitten instead of a curvy woman. He set her in next to Mable, patted her butt and hurried to the front. Kanda stared at him with glazed eyes and beamed at his back. Jet chuckled from beside Maggie. “Never thought I would see the day someone could make her look like that.” Maggie chuckled with him.

Long tables were filled with an array of food, representing the abundance we shared as a community. The day of the summit arrived, and as guests began to arrive, I could feel the energy in the air shift. I said goodbye to Anna and headed to find Nel. He was out at the training grounds along with about half the pack. Ever since word of how big this rogue problem is got out the pack members have stepped up their training. The few who had only taken beginner were now in the advanced class working on attack moves and Nel had created an elite training class for the top warriors to advance even more. I had watched as this pack went into potential war mode, and while it didn’t look a ton different from the grand scheme of things, the overall moral and little details had changed it was a different air around.
