My living had been turn upside down, and my staffs stood there powerlessly, there faces buried toward the ground. Jax was sitting on the sofa facing the entrance, holding a book I had left on the table earlier before going out. I walked forward and the damages got clearer; vases broken across the floor, and one of my favorite portraits shattered to the ground, with its frame resting by the wall. “The Unwelcome One,” he read from the book’s cover, slowly. “By Martin Crowns.” He looked up, at me, and I walked closer to him. “What’s the deal with you? Why causing all this mess in my abode?” I said slowly and my voice shaking—like I’d poured all my seriousness into that statement.

He stepped ahead to the mailroom entrance and held it open for me, his fingers brushing lightly against my arm as I passed him. My skin warmed instantly at the contact, but the reaction wasn’t sharp like before. It wasn’t hunger. It wasn’t obsession resurfacing. It was awareness. Soft, steady awareness. “Thanks,” I said. “Anytime.” Inside, a few neighbors were chatting quietly. A couple sorting mail. A woman pushing a stroller. And from the open door leading to the courtyard, the smell of something smoky and familiar drifted in. I sniffed the air. “Is that… grilled food?”

My best friend insisted I get a professional to check the entire place for spy cameras, so I did. Finally, my life resumed normal once more. I started looking for a new lady roommate. This time, I was much more cautious than before. I no longer want another creepy roommate. Late at night, when all was quiet next door, I finally had the night to myself. "That idiot. If he were to watch the video earlier, he would have realized I'm not a woman." Yes. Yours truly, a man.

I bit back a groan, trying to keep my thoughts in check. Our eyes met, and she looked up, a smirk playing on her lips. "Oh great, it's you. No party today? Are pigs flying?" I leaned against the railing, unable to resist teasing her. "Well, well, if it isn't the most lovely neighbor. What are you reading, 'How to Annoy Your Neighbor in 10 Easy Steps'?" She rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed. "It's a mystery novel, Zion. But I wouldn't expect you to understand anything that doesn't involve loud music and cheap beer."

It was the first book I read on w*****d and I recommend you read it if you're old enough. Now sure you're all thinking that the book seems boring with no action and that it doesn't seem like Tara even loves Jeremy. It's almost like Jeremy disappeared and so did school but don't worry. Just a hint, action will happen, people will dies and others will be kidnapped. That is all I can say. I'm wicked so I'll leave you all in suspense.
