The art was carved on half the wall when I spun back. “Gabriel, it’s beautiful!” I mouthed in awe. “The Voyage of Dawn Treader, it is called,” Gabriel informed, appearing behind me and slipping his arms around my waist. “King Caspian X’s ship,” I said breathlessly. He chuckled between my hair and ear. “You know stuff.” “Of course. The Chronicles of Narnia is one of my favorite books.” I turned around so I could see his gorgeous face. “It’s very beautiful, Gabriel. Thank you for showing it to me. Who made it?”

Chapter 1 Lyra's POV I wrapped my legs tighter around his waist, pulling him closer against me. My body was on fire, every nerve ending screaming for more contact. His deep groan vibrated through his chest and into mine, making everything inside me clench with desperate need. My fingers dug into his shirt as he continued kissing and sucking at my neck. He grabbed my waist, half-pulling, half-lifting me toward the bedroom. I felt more like a doll being moved than a person being carried. I knew this was wrong. I knew I shouldn't be here in his arms, and shouldn't be enjoying every second of this forbidden moment.

Finally, his strength gave out, and he collapsed heavily on top of me, burying his face in the crook of my neck. We lay there in the quiet room for a long time, both of us breathing in heavy, ragged gasps. The chest-to-chest contact was warm and heavy, our hearts hammering in unison like two war drums finally slowing down. Slowly, he shifted his weight off to the side, pulling me tight against his side while his hand rested comfortably on my hip. "Well," he rasped out, his voice laced with a dark, satisfied smirk as he looked down at me. "Are you still talking trash, little girl?"

Erika couldn't answer what Lei said to the two of them, telling them the real story of the war that had killed Erika's parents. "My niece will help you get over what you're going through with your daddy before I help you awaken your powers. I hope that in time you'll accept who you really are. I know that won't be easy for you," Lei said, turning the book back to normal and handing it to Erika. Lei said that normal people couldn't read what was in the book because the book she gave him was not ordinary. "That book is only for deities except for my niece and I, so we can read it because we're not ordinary," Lei replied.

He held up the book so I could see how much of it he had read. “You’re reading my vampire romance?” Obviously, I knew this already, but I still couldn’t believe he actually had it in his hands. I was more than a little embarrassed. “Well, yeah,” Brandon said, pulling it away from me. “Fangs of Love by Amber Rose. It’s really quite interesting. I’m doing research.” He said it in an overly romanticized voice and I could feel my face turning red. “Just give it here,” I whispered, reaching for it again. He held it just out of my reach.

Theodore goaded, coming to the aid of his favorite show. “Nothing, just that right now I prefer something… naughty.” She reddened right after looking at everything but Theodore. He grinned, giving her a knowing side-eye. “How about the outlander?” “I loved the sex scenes,” she smirked, tongue in her cheek. “Me too,” Theodore confirmed with a light blush. “Maybe Tudors will be the better option in that regard.” He remembered the many explicit scenes in the series. “Sold,”

"Whatever happened to love each other first then... then doing the deed after. Is everyone after physical contact only these days? What about getting to know each other first? Chivalry? Romantic date?" I sighed and stopped spinning, facing my laptop and visiting a bookstore's site to see what books sell. She chuckled, rising up, “Give it back. I really have to complete it today.” “Is it some kind of challenge?” I stared at the book in my hands which contained not less than hundreds of chapters. It was a little heavy, but the cover was quite attractive. It was a dark romance book, the kind where the male lead is aggressive and cold. Reading a book like this gives me the chills, but Kiera here is a stark contrast to me.
