New Papa Emeritus Novels & Stories

~99~ Carmelo The moment I touched the Conti estate, Papa called for me. I may be the CEO of the Conti Casa Reale Empire but the old man was still the Chairman. And I would consult him about major issues or before making decisions that could change the fate of the company.

"Therefore, the new chairman-elect is P.A.!" The room erupted in applause. James stood proudly, shaking hands and smiling as people congratulated him. "Please extend our congratulations to your boss," one of them said. "We’re excited to begin this new chapter with her." I sat frozen, too stunned to react. Who exactly was this P.A.? She wasn’t even present, yet she had everyone under her control. My dad’s face had gone pale, his eyes blazing with silent fury. Without saying a word, he turned and stormed out of the hall. I stood up too, too numb and broken to congratulate anyone, and followed him.

He also made mention of my dad and mum which made me tear up. He thanked a lot of people in his speech including me and Rory. “I have another announcement to make.” He said after he was done with his speech. “As I retire as CEO, I would like to introduce the new and permanent CEO of Brown Limited and Co., Camilla Brown.” The room erupted in a loud round of applause. Raphael walked me to the stage then returned to his seat. I hugged my grandpa and then took over the podium.

“Hey, they would have their own families. They can’t just stay with us forever.” “Yeah… They can’t…” “You’ll have me… I’ll have you. What more do you need? Maybe we would have grandchildren.” He said, beaming. “This reminds me that the Pappa’s old couple will soon have a great-great-grandchild. Do you believe it?” “Wow… How old are they?” “Mrs. Aphrodite told me they are both 88.” He didn’t respond… And I continued. “Adam got a €500 tip.” “Lucky guy. Half a month’s salary in just a night. From whom?”

"As approved by the Directors, Petrov Petroleum Ltd. is formally announcing the appointment of Mr. Alek Vasili Wright as the new Chief Executive Officer" "It is of great expectation that citizens relevant to the business of the company show CEO Vasili Wright the intended support and loyalty you have shown to the previous CEO" "CEO Emeritus Timothy Petrov will be taking over as Chairman after the retirement of his father, Chairman Emeritus Timmy Petrov" A brief announcement aired in all media companies and created an uproar in the entire country before the day has even started.

I counter. “No one will ever replace Charlie,” Papa says firmly. “Papa. I know that. Mom knows that. I’m not asking you to replace her—I’m asking you to let yourselves be whole again. You’re retiring in a few days. And sure, Jared and I will always need you—but you’ll have time now. Don’t you want to feel that kind of love again?” There’s a long silence. “Dad? Papa?” “We’ll think about it, okay?” Papa says softly. “Let us… let us send a letter to your Mom. If she truly wants this… we’ll at least attend.”

“Today, I want to address a difficult topic. As many of you know, my mother, Emilia King Sanders, recently passed away.” He paused, collecting his thoughts. “Her legacy and impact on our family and this company will never be forgotten. She was a pillar of strength and compassion.” The room fell silent, with many nodding in respect. “Moving forward, I'm announcing my retirement as Chairman of Kings' Empire.” The room erupted in gasps as camera clicks echoed across the hall. “I'm passing the torch to my son, Alexander,” Dad continued. “He's the future of this company.” I stood frozen, unsure of what to say.
