I bought a plane ticket with every last cent I had scraped together from all the side gigs I did, the babysitting jobs, the private tutoring, anything and everything that allowed me to keep a few euros in my pocket and when I knew I had saved enough I packed a few clothes, my favorite notebook, a pen that had been my only friend through endless nights of scribbling stories I would never show anyone, and a heart full of stubborn hope.
