Sherry POV When we arrived in New York, I was taken to the hospital from the airport. New York smelled like rain and smoke when I woke, clean, sterile air filtering through the penthouse windows, but beneath it lingered something thicker. Danger. Secrets. Lust. My body ached in places I didn't remember injuring. The sheets beneath me were silk, but my skin burned. Not from the attack. From the tension curled deep in my belly, tight, coiled, ready to explode.
