The club’s restroom was dimly lit, the bass from the music outside thrumming against the walls. Robin pressed me against the counter, his hands roaming over my body, his breath hot against my skin. I played the part well.. just enough push and pull, just enough teasing to keep him hooked. And then... The door swung open. Robin barely had time to react before Marco stepped inside, a camera flashing once before disappearing. Robin froze. "What the... " Marco smirked, holding up his phone. "Smile, Smith. You’re about to go viral." Panic flashed across Robin’s face. He staggered back, running a hand through his disheveled hair. "This is a setup."

I blinked in confusion. “You’ve been smiling since you entered the car,” he pointed out while chuckling softly. My cheeks warmed slightly. Honestly… maybe I had been smiling. Because the memory of Vincent struggling through Cassia’s burnt toast this morning kept replaying inside my head. The man genuinely looked traumatized. The way his face twisted after one bite almost made me choke on my coffee trying not to laugh. I didn’t even realize I was smiling again until Nico tapped lightly against the steering wheel dramatically. “Okay,” he said suspiciously. “Now I definitely need to know what’s making you this happy.”

As much as I wanted to ask the exact same thing, I couldn't do without opposing him. “ You guys worry for nothing. They taste equally as good, ” Ryan assured with a smile. “ It better,” Nico said, remaining the picky eater that he is. “ You're one shameless bum, aren't you?” Miro folded his arms. “ And you're one unbothered friend,” He was quick with a comeback. “ You're the one who invited me over, so why do I have to do anything? Shouldn't you be the one serving me?” Nico was intentionally provoking Miro. It was a habit of his to provoke everyone.

The sound barely faded when the pair in front turned their heads simultaneously, their flawless smiles utterly unchanged. "What's so funny?" Cecilia hissed through her teeth, her smile never wavering. "Nothing," Robin mimicked her strained smile, eyes full of mockery. "Just admiring the award-worthy performance." Cecilia's smile widened, but her eyes were pure scorn. "Thanks for the compliment. But try not to laugh so ugly—if the cameras catch that grimace, you're screwed." Before she finished, Liam chuckled softly beside her, the sound eerily similar to Robin's earlier snort.

"Robin, what are you trying to do?" "You apply too much lipstick on your lips, instead of drawing fans to yourself, you will also draw perverts to yourself, a little lipstick is okay," Robin told me and was about to wipe it off but I held his hand and moved my head back. "What do you know about makeup, don't you see how female celebrities dress and make themselves up for a show? I just put on the right amount of lipstick," I glanced at the mirror and pouted my lips while I smiled. "So it's okay this way." I turned to look at Robin but he wasn't smiling.

I muttered with a curt nod, my gaze flicking briefly to Joan. Jesus Christ. Joan was smiling—smiling at the man accompanying Lucas while he touched her arm. She leaned into his touch, her smile widening. I had never seen her smile like that, not even at me. And now? She was smiling at a man she’d just met. “I’m Nico. And what’s the name of a pretty damsel like you?” the man asked, making me scrunch my nose. Cheesy lines. Joan didn’t need a man who relied on lame pick-up lines to win her over.

Valentina quietly laughed next to me, clearly entertained. "Valentina, you didn’t say hello to me," Nico said, looking annoyed. He crossed his muscular arms as if in a pout. Valentina looked his way, a slight smile on her face. "You didn’t say it to me first," she replied with a grin, mirroring his crossed arms. "Hi there. " Nico smiled, showing off his youthful appeal. "Hi again, you little brat. " She answered, causing him to laugh. He relaxed a bit, his shoulders dropping.

~ELENA~ Alessandro’s fingers dig so deep into my skin that I’m sure I’ll bruise. My pulse thunders in my ears, drowning out even the whispers of the crowd. Nico doesn’t blink. Doesn’t move. He’s a statue carved out of ice and rage, his jaw tight, his eyes locked on Alessandro like he’s already chosen the best way to destroy him. And then….he smiles. It’s not kind. Not playful. Not the cocky smirk he wears when he’s teasing me at home.

I think back to the day we met, how similar this was to then, and I can’t help myself as I smile and whisper, “I’m fixing your fucking mess.” He chokes out a breathy laugh, a rumbling sound that is full and joyous, causing another round of cameras to click around the hall. “God, I miss being in love,” Nicco sighs into his microphone, finally breaking through our little bubble as a small ripple of laughter tears through the crowd.
