Emma gulped as her mind jogged back to the unexpected event of the night before. Nothing happened last night! Nothing had happened between them. Which was a relief of course! But it's confusing as well. With the petals of roses scattered across the room like a carpet of love, scented candles and a huge bottle of champagne on the bed, Emma expected Kevin to sleep with her, ravage her like a fucking monster he's— she had seen the way he looked at her when they were together in the car but much to her surprise, he didn't.
