The night held a certain magic that whispered in the darkness, urging us to seize the moment. We decided to lie down in front of Jacob's car, gazing upward at the vast expanse of the night sky. The stars twinkled above us, casting their mystical glow upon our faces. It was a peaceful night, with the moon shining brightly, lending an ethereal aura to the surroundings.

Above us, the sky had deepened to black velvet, stars emerging in breathtaking profusion, more than I'd ever seen from the light-polluted valley. "Look." I breathed, tilting my head back. "It's starting." Rafael followed my gaze upward, momentarily distracted from our conversation. "Holy shit," he whispered. "There are so many." The Milky Way stretched across the sky like spilled sugar, countless stars surrounding it in clusters and patterns I'd only seen in astronomy books. Without the competition of artificial light, they shone with fierce brilliance, some twinkling, others steady as anchors in the vast emptiness. "It's incredible."

I blinked as my eyes adjusted to the deeper dark, the dashboard lights fading to black. The city was a distant glow now, barely visible beyond the rolling hills—tiny clusters of light like embers far away on the horizon, flickering faintly as if waving goodbye. Above us, the sky stretched wide and unapologetic, scattered with stars I’d forgotten existed in such abundance. Not the faint pinpricks you strained to see between skyscrapers, but real stars—thousands of them, sharp and bright and endless, clustered in constellations that seemed to pulse with ancient stories. The sun goes down as the moon takes its place. Stars scattered in the sky cover it as it twinkles like a diamond in the sky. The night comes alive with a symphony of crickets and the soft rustling of leaves. The gentle breeze carries a sense of tranquility, inviting us to gaze up at the celestial beauty above.

The once salmon and lavender sky transformed into a vast expanse of jet-black, the night laid down on a blanket of darkness. It was nighttime when Chadwick and Adira finished fixing the accident they created this afternoon. As they went out of the clinic, they both tilted their heads skyward and could see the black sky, the think clouds shaded the luminous moon from time to time, but there were no stars. “We wasted a lot of time, thanks to you,” Chadwick blamed his wife as he looked at the rides before them. Thankfully, the journalist and her photographer haven’t arrived at their side yet, so they can talk at ease.

The sky split in two, between night and day, darkness and light. Stars came on the dark side. Dimas nodded with agreement. "That's true, anyway. Having fun watching the amazing scenery up there. Until finally, my eyes fixed on something.

He shook his head as he thought. He turned his focus onto the stars because he wasn't sure what to do with himself. “Do you know anything about them?” Danica asked him with a smile on her face as she looked up to the dark night sky. “Bits and pieces, I know where the north star is.” Kaleb said his eyes were studying the sky.

I just have to wait for night fall. The night was thick with anticipation, making the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. The moon, full and bright, cast a silvery light across the land, creating stark contrasts of light and shadow. The air was cool and still, carrying the faint scent of pine and earth. Stars glittered like distant diamonds in the vast expanse of the night sky, and an eerie silence hung in the air, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves and the distant call of a night bird.

We stayed there, snuggling cozily, and gazed out the window at the dark night while revisiting that night. After a few minutes, Nicholus pointed at the window, “The sky seems so beautiful today.” I took in the moon hanging in there, illuminating its surroundings in a warm glow. I shifted my gaze to the stars that were shining brightly. “Look at all those stars. They look so marvelous,” I remarked. The best thing about North was that the night sky here was always filled with millions of stars. Whether it was due to high altitude or less pollution whenever I looked up at night, hundreds of stars would wink down at me.

It's cloaked in darkness, but a mystical kind of darkness that lets me see the mountains after mountains capped in pristine white snow that glistened brilliantly under an oversized moon. What I notice most about this night, is it's hardly mortal. The darkness is a mixture of purple and royal blue, misting together with obsidian black to portray an exquisite canvas of colour. The stars that freckled the sky winked and glittered, adding to the splendour that I look up at. "Thanks for grabbing my chest, of all places," I say tartly, turning my gaze from the lights on the horizon, obviously making up either a small city or a large town.
