Gina muttered, her eyes darting toward the window. Through the neon-green smoke, she could see the lower valley. The Nightfang vanguard was being systematically surrounded by a secondary force of hunters—men dressed in heavy, silver-plated armor who had been hidden within the lower volcanic tunnels, waiting for the main vanguard to commit to the gates.
