I needed the raw, unyielding power of a full shift to smash the magic dome. To make things worse, my sleep had been completely ruined by a series of relentless nightmares. They were entirely unfamiliar. The faces of the people around me were totally different, and the architecture belonged to another world entirely. In the dreams, a catastrophic fight broke out and the moonclaw relic was violently shattered. I vividly saw the three glowing halves falling through the darkness. Waking up, the heavy message felt loud and clear. It felt like something ancient was begging me to find the relics before time ran out.

I didn’t know what exactly it entailed, but Kaden had given me a hint. My eyes landed on Nero and I couldn’t help but give him a small smile. He looked tired, but there were mixed emotions in his eyes. Like he was happy but sad at the same time. ‘Dismount,’ Nightmare commands me. Carefully, I slide off his back and step away from him. His body morphs before my eyes. He is no longer the black stallion, but a massive dragon with terrible claws on his front feet. He flaps his wings, and the wind pushes me back onto the ground. Leonidas is standing over me, growling at what used to be his horse, but Nightmare is not fazed. He rises into the air and grabs Leonidas in his claws. I am terrified, and a scream rips from my body.
