Nightshade Keri Lake Novels & Stories

Soon he sped away towards Geneva-on-the-lake, a small picturesque town an hour’s drive away from Cleveland, along the southern shore of Lake Erie. “Is it a hotel?” she asked as they turned onto Lakeland Fwy. “Yes, a lodge overlooking Lake Eerie. It’s breathtakingly beautiful, just like you are.” Skylar blushed at his comparison, her heart skipping a beat or two. “But we haven’t brought a thing with us,” she protested. The wedding dress was all she had! Surely you couldn’t wear that to sleep! Why couldn’t he inform her earlier?

If I couldn’t have him in life… then she sure as hell wouldn't have her love story either. I watched as Liam stood up suddenly, his phone buzzing from the pocket of his jeans. “Just a second, love. I need to take this,” he said, placing a kiss to Elena’s temple. She nodded, smiling up at him, brushing her hair from her face as the wind danced with her scent. That smile made me want to scream. I licked my lips, heart hammering. Now. I had prepared the lake this morning. A rare herb crushed and scattered into the water’s edge—undetectable to most wolves but potent enough to burn through skin like acid if absorbed through open pores or inhaled. It wouldn’t kill her immediately. No—death would b

“Alpha Gideon, you should hear Lisa. She may have found the key to your mate's hidden scent.” Gideon’s gaze snapped toward Lisa, who nodded. Earlier, Angela’s scent had vanished as though it had never existed. But after hours of searching, she had finally uncovered something. “Did you find her?” Gideon raced toward her and held her shoulders, demanding. “Tell me.” Lisa exchanged a glance with Alpha Jacob as Orion stepped aside. Jacob silently urged her to speak. “No,” she admitted. “But I know the most likely place where Kesha will perform the Witch Ceremony, the night after tomorrow.”

“Keep this between us until she is mine. I can’t let anyone know until she is under my protection.” “Yes Alpha.” Ethan said as he left to go to the cabin. About twenty minutes later Shawn rushed into my office, “They are closing in on her scent.” “Where are they at now?” I ask as I stood up to follow him. “She’s on the outskirts of pack land near Bridge Road.” Shawn told me and my wolf started to growl and I knew I wasn’t going to be able to hold him back much longer. Kera was going after our mate once again and I didn’t stop her from leaving. If anything happens to her it’s blood on my hands for not protecting her.

I asked, feeling a surge of pride that Zarek had managed to defend himself. "That’s the thing... Kane and I are ninety-five percent sure Zarek has no clue how to get back to our pack. He ran the opposite direction and ended up jumping off a cliff into the lake that leads to Twilight River. You know, the lake with the waterfall? It's just outside North River territory, but it's pretty well known.”

“Heartbreaking.” “Absolutely tragic,” Vanessa murmured, barely hiding her grin. My dad did the same, but they both ended up snickering. Dad really loves vanessa. But how could he not? “You should see the lake too,” I added. “Silver Lake. It’s up in the north part of the property, past the tree line. Real peaceful this time of year. Water’s still as glass.” “That sounds incredible,” Macey said. “Do people swim in it?” “In summer. It’s cold as sin right now even though there’s no snow.”

she said, with a nod toward me. We had honey for the hot-cakes, kind of an odd combo to me, but I was ravenous and it hit the spot. "What should I be doing this morning," I asked, slowly coming to life. "Me!" Jill cried out. "No, Me! Me!" Robin argued. I was still a little slow on the take. Looking on in awe as the two gorgeous ladies vied for my attentions. I could feel myself responding to the idea. "Down boy. They're teasing you. Take a dip in the lake, you stink of booze. Then take a ride up the trail and see how bad it's going to be getting out of here," Sheri told me.

She lowered her head respectfully toward Asher before turning her soft, mournful eyes to me. “Luna Livia,” Serena said, her voice dripping with gentle sorrow. “Please do not make this harder for the pack. I personally examined the Alpha’s remains. The poison in his veins was Night- shade root - a rare , volatile herb that grows only in the soil behind your cabin.I matched the toxin myself.” The crowd began to snarl again, the low rumble of wolfish anger rippling through the front lines. I stared at her, my blood running cold. “You lied. You weren't even in the courtyard when he collapsed. You were at the eastern border.”

Needless to say, I picked up the pace matching stride with Trey pretty easily now. While running down the shoveled wooden trail it turned into ankle-high snow in the most shallow bits and knee-high in the deepest which heavily affected my ability to keep pushing forward. I was slowing down but so was Tiana and her zombie posse. Trey who had pulled a head shot a glance back at me and waited, starting to pull me along when I caught up. We passed about four cabins before he said anything. "What number of cabins are we?" I shot a look at the cabin to our left reading 778

I said, then turned back to my plate to eat. “That’s right…Lunar Lake is on your property. That’s the watering hole for the wolves. You might want to stay clear of that part of the property.” Sherry bought out more fish and placed it in front of us, but I just stared at the basket. “It’s an all-you-can-eat fish fry,” Tyler said as he took two pieces of fish from the basket and placed them on his plate.
